My two brothers who are about 10 years older than me amassed a ton of LPs it's insane. They were into a lot of prog stuff and weird shit, old Genesis and Gabriel, Gentle Giant, King Krimson, Zappa, Jethro Tull but they had all the normal stuff like Zep, Who and Floyd etc. I mean they have everything, anything you can think from the 70's-80's, Abba, Asia, Herbie Hancock, Bob and Doug McKenzie's Christsmas album, all sorts of comics, jazz, classical, the most random stuff.

My one brother still has all his 8 tracks and the unit, he used to rock Sabbath on his 8 track in his 69 Mach 1 Mustang in high school in the late 70's, he was my idol haha.

The place they and I used to go to as a kid is still there and still sells vinyl, Music Merchant in Westwood, they've somehow stayed the same over all these years.

I don't really consider myself an audiophile but I think the best digital by far are WAV files from CD's, it's waaaay better than anything else. MP3's are really compressed and you can definitely tell the difference. Sirius XM or whatever they are now sounds sooooooo f***ing terrible. The original XM was good but since the merger they cram a million stations through a small pipe. The only way to do that is to compress the shit out of the signal, it's really, really bad.

There are songs that I hear today and still know exactly where a track change would take place. :D

Was listening to the Dana Carvey/David Spade podcast and Dana was suggesting that next year’s Super Bowl halftime show should just be Neil and a guitar. Sign me up😎

Maybe start out with Jimmy Fallon doing Whip My Hair and have Neil join him in a modern "sequel"?

bought this today... 3 SERIES DELAY

it might be perfect delay pedal ....3 knobs and a toggle between digital and analog sound which is described as,

"Down is an analog voiced delay that also has true analog runaway sounds when the Repeats are turned up. Up is a digital voiced delay for crisp and clean repeats"

played it for about a minute in shop and was sold. ...and then even more impressed running it through my own amps at volume in studio. can do it all easily

and now for the legendary scottie moore sound which is just 3 twists of a knob away...

there are three cups...i'm guessing the one the players hoist was the one you touched as it's not being carted around for events during the season so much

my touch with the cup was when nick boynton brought it to his hometown of nobleton

I knew there were multiple and I’m not sure which one it was but I’m calling it the presentation cup in my head. 😁

We saw the original too. It’s in the room next door (behind glass) to the big hall with the current cup.

@My3Sons

curious. how much were the steely dan/eagles tickets?

PM me if you don't want to post it publicly.

With the fees it was a bit less than $200 per seat. Since I’m old and can’t see we opted for good lower bowl seats. Two sections from the side of the stage and row 9. I think good floor seats were $500 per seat but that seemed excessive since we aren’t huge Eagles fans.

ya, after missing out on the ticketmaster sale for neil i had to go stub hub for 140...(ya, i went above my 'internal cap' of 100....oh well) .. a bit much but my train of thought is... i just got a new decent paying job, might be the last chance i get to see them play and the last time i saw him was 2015 with wille nelson's sons' band the promise of the real ...and i paid nothing for the ticket. so this makes up for that.

it was a 3 1/2 hour show Neil Young + Promise of the Real Setlist at WayHome Music Festival 2015

as for your concert combo.....remember when the steelers merged with the eagles for a season during WW2... you surely must remember that time.... or is your memory fading :sarcasm:

I can really go down the rabbit hole of music ticket prices these days and rant on that for hours. It’s a constant topic with my friends in the business.

It’s not really the bands faults. Ticketmaster/live nation is almost a monopoly on most shows these days. Even the bands most have never heard. So I’m sure they’re in the pockets of the Eagles and Steely Dan.

There a huge surcharge on tickets (I’m not talking a resale ticket here either) and that isn’t even going to the bands or anybody in their party.

Yes, the bands have a right to opt out, but they’ll pretty much be blacklisted for doing shows by not involving Ticketmaster/live nation.

I’d rather dump more of my money into the bands than Ticketmaster/live nation when I pay that much.
