I saw Dinosaur Jr about a hundred years ago.

They may have been on the same bill as Fugazi or maybe I'm just imagining that because I saw both (saw Fugazi quite a few times) around the same time?

I think I may have even saw Dinosaur Jr more than once.

i'm quite impressed with how well i can function in general.

sober or f***ed up makes no difference.

although, i would not drive a car right now.

...only because it's illegal, not because i can't. and, ...

i have no place to go

This was a pretty significant moment in rock history. Mick Ronson on Heroes. Bowie had dumped Ronson before he moved on to that phase of his career. Ronson was amazing. Look into his career and it's really impressive. He died from liver cancer by 46. What a loss. The Stones really missed the boat when they replaced Mick Taylor with Ron Wood instead of adding Ronson.

and listen to that bass run on Heroes. It's eerily similar to Under Pressure that happened to have the riff written by that bassist.

I saw Ian Hunter back in 2016 at the Newton Theatre. Love that place - very small and not a bad seat anywhere.

Looks like a great show. He’s got an underrated catalogue. Ronson was on a bunch of those original recordings.

I think Bowie saw himself more as an artist (however he defined that) than a musician. He was always more focused on the presentation than the music. He relied on others for that in most of his career phases. I think it’s one of the reasons he was so uneven musically. Other than the Ziggy album he really had no other great album. He had great songs but what Bowie album are you putting on to hear all of it beyond Ziggy?

I designed a new grasshopper fly pattern that I'm looking forward to testing out this summer. I might still need to make some minor tweaks...I think perhaps the brown deer hair wing should be longer and I think I might want to try a different hook? Not sure but I like this simple clean pattern that can be a grasshopper or a stonefly.

new job so far is not too bad....

drove a couple of hours to fort erie in work truck today (with 'the boss' who is my friend and played guitar in the band back when we played shows)

....did some 'manhole cover' flipping and took some water flow readings and installed a couple of sensors in others....then drove home...

16 bucks more than my last job.....

tomorrow going to brantford to install 2 sensors... and love that i get paid from the time i leave the house until i get home.

eventually it will just be me going to places..

an ottawa service run is coming up soon..... good times
