Its okay to be hetero friends for boys and girls. My friend from Canada has a baby now. She can't start to be pregnant and local doctors from toronto do nothing with it. I helped her to find good medical center in Moscow. She spent 1000$ for all analysis to find the reason what it was, and when doctors finally found clues and roots - ~5-7K $ for medicine. It was auto immune thing. Thanks got doctors helped and Canadian border guys were okay with tonns of meds.
After 2 years of hard work and pedantic life she is finally a mom. Im freaking happy for her like for myself.

Are you making a trip from Florida to Colorado on the car or on the plane? Did you do it on the car at least once?

George Carlin:

About this time, someone is telling you to get on the plane. "Get on the plane. Get on the plane." I say, "f*** you, I'm getting IN the plane! IN the plane! Let Evil Knievel get ON the plane! I'll be in here with you folks in uniform! There seems to be less WIND in here!"

Getting in the plane is for pu**es. I like the feeling of the wind on my beautiful hairs.

I’ve always flown when I’ve went to Colorado from Florida or from Jersey.

I’ve mostly flown from Florida to Jersey and vice versa, but I’ve also driven it. Though the last time was when I moved in 2011.

I’m not sure I have it in me to do a drive from Florida to Colorado at this point in my life. It’s close to 2000 miles from me.

I don’t even think I’d wanna do the drive from Florida to Jersey anymore. Though my friend who has 5 years on me does it all the time. Several times a year, as he has residences in both states. And he does it in one day.

i pay a monthy fee to a service company that does water softener rental, water heater rental and a plumbing protection plan that cover clogs, leaks, etc

was told my downstairs shower drain would be snaked between 7am and 11am

the guy shows up at 3:15..... im beyond livid with this f***ing company .

i called every hour ...on the hour and was told that the service guy will "call you soon" every f***ing time...

it's a 'big' company, not some mom and pop thing.....

promises are shit. stupid f***ing words.

my sister has a 2012 beetle... got quoted 80$ from her dealership to install a new passenger side headlamp bulb.

no way she would pay that. so...

even before calling me to come by she ordered the part for 35 bucks. it took me less than 10 minutes to change it.

its a f***ing headlight, not rocket surgery.

today's theme music...

I saw Joe Jackson on his Big World tour at the Radio City Music Hall. I was a bit skeptical going in as he had transitioned to his piano crooning from his earlier punky sound. While a bit uneven, much of it was high energy. The show ended with a really great long version of I'm the Man. Lots of fun.

I’ve often times been told I’m very feminine. I probably am a bit feminine.

But I would say the most manly thing about myself is that I have the ability to either complete most necessary repairs to everything but automobiles, HVAC, plumbing and even electric.

Mostly out of necessity. I’ve saved myself thousands upon thousands of dollars doing my own work.

But I’m not open to doing this kind of work for anyone but myself, unless it’s just lending a hand. Or unless it’s something extremely simple.

Just like I won’t give anyone else a haircut. Only myself.

Those are awesome skills to have. I was able to hang blinds when we moved into our new house and I was proud of myself. To be fair, I'm pretty good with an Apple computer and setting up and networking things considering I have no background in that and I am old.

Funny enough, sometimes I’m worse with blinds than actual skilled work.

It’s kind of like how I have a harder time replacing windshield wiper blades than alternators/water pumps/tensioners.

I can’t change water pipes. I’m making electric, repair of walls, paint, computer stuff is easy for me, I’m working with wood, can repair furniture, but I can’t work with water pipes- it’s over me.
And I’m not working with gas equipment.

I don’t blame you on the gas. I don’t wanna touch that either.

Fortunately I don’t have gas appliances in here. It’s all electric.

We have very cheap gas. Im paying 3-4$ per month for unlimited gas. For cook and for making hot water. We can pick full electric apartments but its very cheap to pick apartments with gas.

I think unless you're in a position to pay people to do those things for you, you have to learn out of necessity. I never thought I'd do simple electrical, appliance repair, etc but when something breaks and it costs a ton I'll give it a shot myself first. I've repaired a washer and dryer and saved hundreds compared to paying someone. I do all my own oil changes for like $30 and a half hour of peace and quiet because a dealer or shop wants $75-100. Power washing my house costs me a few hours of time and a bottle of pool cleaner and it saves me over $100. If you don't have money as a home owner for repairs you have to learn some basic skills.

I've always done my own automotive work, but I wasn't a homeowner until I was 35, so I've learned how to basically do everything else since then.

I was a carpenter by trade at one point, so I've always known my way around tools. I'm glad I'm not anymore. I wouldn't be as physically healthy/in shape. I'm fine with the huge decrease in pay. I sometimes joke that I prostituted my self with that gig for 16-17 years just to be able to acquire enough to come down here at 35 and buy a house in cash.

I never thought I'd be able to do half the home repairs I've now done. I'm proud of myself.

I'm definitely doing the roof in the next few years, when it needs to be done.

I don't have enough in savings (anymore, I used to, but it all went to buying this house in cash) to be able to drop $5k-$10k grand on this car repair or that home repair.
