Somebody quickly talk me out of walking outside and beating the shit out of whoever just blew off two house shaking fireworks in the last 2 or 3 minutes. Because I’m sure more are coming if I don’t.

It’s been dark for 3 hours just about. You’ve had all night so far to do this. And now you pick almost 11:20 at night to set them off out of nowhere?

I swear to god, I have sick fantasies of these people running down the road on fire after having an accident blowing them off.

And no, I wouldn’t call 911 or do shit to help put them out if that happened.

Hang in there. They will run out soon.

Tried that. He's deformed (rescue dog) so I already carry him down the stairs in my apartment building for walks; he's an 11lb shih tzu. He just starts shaking and won't move. I carried him half a block away and put him down, and he just started walking right back home without stopping to do the usual sniffing and peeing on stuff.

On the actual 4th I managed to calm him down and get him to walk a little, then a huge firework went off nearby and he just RAN. Like if I didn't have a leash on him, he'd still be running I think. Had to carry him home then. He's fine on his morning walks, but now he's petrified of the evening. It really sucks.
The vet can maybe get you some tranquilizers? I feel terrible for the pets with that much anxiety. We can only do so much without language.

I would've called the Police regardless.

They're disturbing the peace.

Enough of this sh-t.

By the time the cops would have gotten here they would have been done shooting them off for the night.

It was only two blasts in about 3 minutes of each other, though very loud blasts.

Sounded and felt like a bomb went off within just a few feet from me.

It wasn’t a scary the second time, as I expected it, but the first one even scared me.

I was also ready for a third one (and potentially many more) which never came.

MI6 arrived and shut down the reactor just before it could meltdown for a third time. Hopefully Spectre doesn't have enough left from their last world domination scheme and you aren't bothered with this until next July. Of course, those beer commercial types will be blasting music all night now that the summer is here but hopefully that doesn't scare your dog. One of my dogs is giving me the look that she hasn't eaten in six weeks right now. Somehow I think she's exaggerating.

So you are saying that you wouldn’t even piss on them even if they were on fire lol .
I use that expression a lot. Maybe too often

The Police were one of the bands I really liked early on when I was just getting into music.

Don't stand so close to me and every little thing she does is magic are some of the first songs I have recollection of hearing on the radio. They were probably brand new at the time.

I don't recall now. I think they might have played Mother? My only clear memories are synchronicity and synchronicity 2. I presume they played Can't Stand Losing You and Roxanne but I don't recall. It was about 100 years ago.

Check here. It's possible someone may have actually posted a setlist from the show you went to. Scroll down and on the left hand side there's a link for different years.

When I was 5 or 6 years old my uncle was training his gun shy Labrador puppy.

The dog's name was Xavier we used to call him X. My uncle brought X's bedding water and food out the skeet range and made him comfortable then he would shoot a box of shells....the dog was so scared it would run back to the truck and hide underneath it...it wasn't until the shot was associated with the retrieve of a dummy that the dog became unafraid. By 6 months old or so when X saw my uncle's gun case he would get so excited because he knew it meant he was going hunting.

I would imagine associating the loud noise of fireworks with something positive would help...but I suspect the loud noises annoy the owners just as much and that bad vibe adds to the anxiety and is easily read by the dog?

Just a thought really.

The noises definitely annoy me, though they don’t make me hide in the laundry room or under a table and shiver, like they do to the dog.

This is a little 12.5 pound chihuahua/terrier and she gets scared over the littlest things.

It’s been on and off thundering the entire day, so she’s already not having a good day because of that.

I don’t think thunder scares her nearly as much as the fireworks though.

Maybe take her to see the fireworks and when she gets jumpy settle her with treats?

Oh god, she would probably piss on me if I were holding her lol. I’m assuming you mean take her to a firework display? Not sure we have any other than 4th of July and new years.

Though you never know when they’re gonna go off on the block. She would run right back to the front door.
