Value of: Travis Konecny

Brock has 196 goals, 222 assists in 525 games Travis has 195, 263 in 619 games.

I always get a laugh when people make this comparison and say Travis is superior to Brock when Brock had had the better career which last time I checked would make him the better player.
Travis might be having a better season but Brock was having a great season till the headshot and when he returned it took him like 12 games before he looked like himself again.

So why is Travis better? Some facts to show that would be great.

Because I want to win the Cup now. I don't care about Boesers rookie season 6 years ago. Plus
Boeser is slow and that doesn't fit with my team..Typical math guy, adding up numbers and not giving any context.

TK has come on stronger through the last few seasons with a worse team while Brock was better in the earlier seasons than now to an extent. TK is over a PPG this year on a team where the second best player is a rookie that has clearly hit a wall and on a PP this and the last few years near or at last in the league. TK can generate and drive play.

I think I’d take a little more than that for the reasons above, but you have to think he’s worth well north of that. He as a very good salary cap hit for what he would bring. I think if you put him on the Avs he would be a 100 pt player at least for the early part of the contract. But it is a good amount of money for a long contract. Not a typical trade.

OK, you wanted facts:

Career Points: TK 459 - BB 418
Career Goals: TK 195 - BB 196
Career PPG: TK 60.7 - BB 65
PPP: TK 97 - BB 139
SHP: TK 16 - BB 2
TOI/G: TK 17:07 BB 18:19

If you look at their entire careers, you're right, Boeser comes across as at least a match to Konecny, probably superior. For the last three seasons though, it's a very different picture:

Points: TK 188 - BB 162
Goals: TK 85 - BB 75
PPG: TK 80.3 - BB 65.7
PPP: TK 38 - BB 54
SHP: TK 16 - BB 0
TOI/G: TK 20:15 - BB 17:50

All this despite the Flyers averaging 16 fewer points per season than the Canucks and have scored 92 fewer goals overall in this period. It's also despite TK having to play with the ghost of Couturier as opposed to... y'know... JT Miller. Boeser is a great play driver and was once the better player, but TK now scores drastically more goals and points overall, gets way more ice time and is now arguably one of the best PK guys in the league.

They're both good players that any team would obviously want, but Konecny is now objectively a better player than Boeser on most fronts.

TK is often the player who speaks for his team in post-game interviews, and he is their truest leader on the ice.
Danny Briere should not even think about moving Konecny if he wants continue his"rebuilding" phase. Konecny will be the helpful OG in the room who'll still be able to contribute to the team.
If Briere decides to move senior players on the team for prospects and picks he should move Couturier and Laughton.

Brock is a 60 point scorer on the Flyers
Konecny is a 100 point scorer on the Canucks

They're not close, stop it.

Career stats mean nothing when comparing these two, Konecny played his first 3-4 years in the bottom 6 while Brock was in the top 6 year 2.

Konecny is the more complete player and has been easily the better player for going on 5 years now

This year:
TK: 56GP 21G 38A 59P / 1.05 PPG
BB: 47GP 17G 17A 34P / 0.72 PPG

Last 2 seasons:
TK: 132GP 54G 73A 127P / 0.96 PPG
BB: 128GP 57G 50A 107P / 0.83 PPG

Last 3 seasons:
TK: 182GP 85G 103A 188P / 1.03 PPG
BB: 202GP 75G 87A 162P / 0.80 PPG

Last 4 seasons:
TK: 261GP 101G 139A 240P / 0.92 PPG
BB: 273GP 98G 110A 208P / 0.76 PPG

And on top of the dominance in raw numbers, Konecny has been in the top 10 for 3 years running in ESP, he doesn't stack points on a lethal PP.

Dach isn't a scrub but he absolutely is an add in to get Konecny.

Konecny has been in and hovering around the top 10 in points all season while playing for the most inept offensive team in hockey, and he does it all on even strength.

Look at it like this, Konecny is better than Suzuki by quite a bit. Would you call Dach a base to acquire suzuki?

One Jets poster offered Cole P, Brad Lambert and two 1sr rd picks and some posters questioned if that was even enough. Which is easy more then 4 1st round picks value.

So at that rate, it would Dach++++

FYI, I’m not suggesting that’s an accurate cost, just comparing various posters offers.
