mr. sub over subway easy...its been 9 years since i went to a subway...

then again, it's also been about 5 years since i had mr. sub... i'll make my own instead.
I've never been to a Mr. Sub, but it's something I've noticed for 30+ years now thanks to the advertisements on the boards in Toronto.

Pizza Pizza is also another, which I thought for the longest time was a Little Caesars affiliate or potentially what they call it in Canada and was surprised that it wasn't, just because that's the Little Caesars catch line.

Wawa subs aren't all that great. I think I'd rather go to Subway.

They're alright. I'd eat one, but it's not even like they're all that cheap.

I haven't eaten one in a very long time though. Maybe when I have nothing better to do and eat one night I'll go get one.
Meh. It’s a variation on a fast food sub no matter how you slice it. Eat what you like but I’m guessing it’s all loaded with salt and sugar and preservatives.

I grew up across the street from my great-grandmothers then grandmother's Italian deli....no sandwiches compare to what those old ladies did...the made an olive salad once a month that would sell out in hours, sausages, meats and cheeses hanging from the ceiling just amazing.

Re : tipping . Is it just where I am or do you guys have the same thing - At Subway , yes frickin Subway , the tipping option is on interact . You have to search for the no tip option . It goes off of % every place I have been to . At least 5 different locations . I mean , it’s a god damn fast food restaurant. They are not doing anything over and above … they are doing what they are supposed to do . It’s not like they bust their ass off to go the extra mile by getting you something that’s a pain in the ass for them to do . I don’t get it .
I have no issue tipping people if they do more than the norm thst their job requires .

Subway is gross. I never understood how that chain got so big but it was probably mainly due to the “$5 Foot Long” era. Jared certainly killed their momentum but now they are throwing every athlete under the sun at their commercials to try and make people forget about him.

Down where I’m at, the best all around options for a sub are the local grocery chain Publix or Jersey Mikes.

Publix has boar’s head which are very good as commercial cold cuts go. At least to me. Jersey Mikes seems much better to me than subway but I’m sure both are loaded with salt .

Boars Head is a must.

If any sub place doesn’t freshly slice your cold cuts when you order your sub then it’s a non starter for me (Subway is guilty of this).

Don’t tell my wife and kids but I think I prefer the US beaches over these rocky beaches on the French Riviera even if I can get drinks delivered to the beachfront in France.

;) Enjoy the rest of the time with your wife and boys dude.

Well my brother has royally f***ed up my bachelor party. I've been on him since beginning of March about getting it together because I know he can be bad at staying on top of things. Wedding is 7/1. Early May he's saying he's finalizing things for a lake house towards end of May. May ~15th comes around and that is no longer an option so we can either do weekend of June 18th or 25th.

Assuming he checked those weekends with my friends, I went with the 18th. We're driving back to NJ for the wedding on June 28th anyway so why am I gonna want to fly back to CH Sunday night only to drive to NJ Wed morning.

And yea...he didn't really confirm dates with my friends, and that weekend is fathers day. And at 37 I'm at the age where the majority of my friends have kids. My 2 best friends are most likely out at this point, due to their wives already having something planned for them on that weekend, and ultimately this moron now has rented a big lake house for us and maybe 2 other people.

Nothing humble about it but to be fair we’be never splurged and taken this sort of vacation and I’m sure most folks could do this once in a lifetime if they are as old as we are.

Is the lake house is CH? Not that I know what CH is.

Just trying to figure out some of the logistics, but I think we can still make this happen.

CH = Chicago

The lakehouse is in NJ area. I'm originally from there and the majority of my friends are still there. It'll still happen but there will be not as much people as there should be, or for that matter not enough people to get the rental cost down to a reasonable cost/person.

I don't disagree there, I really don't have any issue with tipping at restaurants since it's been around so long that it's gonna be hard to change. It's tipping that has creeped into everything else that is my major issue.
I don't like the card reader tips when picking something up but things like a delivery driver, a tour guides, bag handlers, etc I usually do have no problem with it.

Wawa subs used to be pretty decent, good amount of cold cuts, freshly sliced, etc. Now it's a very specific amount of products like Subway does. Still better than Subway but I wouldn't even really consider them a sub. It's kinda like sometimes Dominos isn't bad but it's not comparable to real pizza.
