A short production I don't mind - a nice muddle - ok. An extra chill on the glass fine. Tossing the bottle more than 1 time? NO WAY. Wagging your finger at me like I'm the pleb? NO F'ING WAY.
I haven't heard the term pleeb in a very long time lol.

My VP had several of us over her house for a Friday get together. I think 9 people total showed up. It was the first opportunity to take the pizza oven on the road. Man what a hit it was. I made 12 (!), 12 inch pizzas of all varieties. Not a single slice left. No pictures unfortunately because I was working basically the whole time, but it was a lot of fun. Highly highly recommend one of these ovens if you like to entertain/cook and want to be able to do so on the road. People like to get involved stretching the dough or creating their own custom pizzas. Just a blast.

Very cool. Wife and I have discussed the elaborate patio kitchen we want if/when we build our next home and there's def a corner pizza oven in the plans. We have fun just making basic pizzas in the kitchen oven already. Grilled pizzas have been hit or miss.

Growing up, soul wasn't at the top of my list of genres I listened to, but for some reason, this song was a favorite even as a kid (yeah, I'm that old). I had always wanted to see her live and twice, my wife bought tickets to see Aretha live. Unfortunately both times, the shows were cancelled due to illness. Sadly I never did get to see her live. This song is always on my playlist.

After using this oven for several months now, I'd much prefer this over a big built in place oven. Being able to take it on the road is awesome. In reality I could even take it on vacation with me.

Assuming our house closes and the new one passes inspection we are supposed to move to a new house that has an outdoor pavilion type structure next to the pool. I’m thinking about getting my wife’s old ez bake oven out of the attic and installing it on the pavilion to make chocolate cookies with the heat from the totally safe early 1970s light bulb cooking element.

I'm getting so much more fly tying done since the Devils have been eliminated.

Now I just need the water levels to drop a little more on the West Branch of the Delaware.

curious. why so many? is it just because you enjoy it making them or do you lose them frequently enough while fishing that you need a stock pile?
I carry an obnoxious amount of flies. People make fun of me for how many flies I carry. But I have a reason and it tends to be productive.

I try to match the bug and where it is the life cycle. So every mayfly has 4 parts to it's life cycle.

Nymph - lives underwater crawls around and sometimes just drifts with the current...but below the surface lower in the water column.

Emerger - right before the nymph turns into a fly it emerges from the bottom. A small gas bubble forms on the top of the bugs thorax where the wings will pop out. This air bubble helps rise the bug to the surface along with some kicking and wiggling. This phase happens from the bottom all the way to the surface...and the bug will be in the process of metamorphosis.

Dun - a dun is a fully hatched adult that rides the currents for some time as it's newly formed wings dry. Some mayflies do this very quickly some take a while...weather seems to play a role. Cold damp days bugs will ride the currents a little longer before taking off

Spinner or Spent - After they dry their wings they fly up to the trees to mate. Once they mate the females with return to the water the lay their eggs and die. They drop their eggs air born then fall to the water with their wings laid flat out like a cross. This usually happens late in the day at dusk. And since the bugs cannot escape it creates a gentle feeding frenzy with the trout lined up to gently sip the spent mayflies.

To imitate that I might need 5 to 7 patterns just to cover one bugs life cycle. Then each bug could vary in size so I need those 5 to 7 patterns in 2 or 3 different sizes.

And that's just mayflies there are caddis flys and Stoneflies also.

Right now on the West Branch of the Delaware there are 4 major mayfly hatching. The first number is hook size, they go in 2 increments. So 18-20 is two sizes. 16-20 is 3 sizes 16, 18, 20.

Mayflies
#18-20 Olives
#16-20 Blue Quills
#14-16 Hendricksons
#10-12 March Browns

Caddis
#18-20 Chimarra caddis
#14-16 Apple caddis.

Neil lomax filmed stuff I believe. Some super raw stuff of RL in some podunk bar, and playing at home with his family.

I'm delving into @JimEIV Sister Tharpe's link now. Real good stuff going on there. Think I've heard of her, but I definitely don't really know her. Some electric guitar work that look's way ahead of it's time.

Well, you can get by with a lot less for sure. Some people don't even believe in "matching the hatch"...just getting close is good enough. And there is definitely some merit to that.

But I have found that if you are fishing for wild fish(meaning not hatchery stocked) that see a lot of fishing pressure, the fish tend to be ultra selective.

Fast riffled water you can get away with more and not be so exact but smooth flat water like pools the fish that live there have PhD's and have seen everything.

There is a short documentary on YouTube that is really good, I don't remember but I think it was done by RocknRoll hall of fame. There is a lot of history stuff on her on YouTube though.

I think after the last couple two-piece swim baits are finished I'm going to take a break from this for a while. I can't image the burning polyurethane and lead drilling is very healthy...

Did you wear a mask for the poly?
