Turned a corner yesterday hiking toward the river and ran into this big girl. We got face to face and at first when I saw the brown hide I thought oh no a grizz...not that that getting face to face with a moose is much better...but she started eating leafs from a tree and looked totally relaxed, relaxed enough for me to snap a pic and quickly move on.

Moose are much bigger than you'd expect the few times I've seen them. What a great moment for you. Have fun out there and be safe.

Well we caught two new species this year in Lake Champlain. The unfortunate part is that both are invasive :confused:

We had one walk through the parking lot where I work last summer. I had to pinch myself when I saw it because it was in the middle of town, at least 5 miles away from anywhere it could have wandered in from. And this was like a week after a mountain lion had been spotted in the area. I'm still half convinced somebody has a backyard zoo somewhere around here that they escaped from.:laugh:

Anyone by chance know of a dog boarding place in NJ that would accept an un-neutered dog?

Because my brother can't plan out anything correctly I'm trying to find a place he can board his dogs for my wedding. The hotel is dog friendly, but there's a rule that dogs can't be left in the room alone and I'm positive he's going to just try to do it anyway...leading to potential issues during the ceremony/reception.

Anyone been following the Titanic submarine story? I can't ever imagine willingly stepping into this piece of shit looking thing for free let alone paying $250k for the experience. I still hope they are ok but it sure isn't looking good.

Wow. that's nuts. Had this been operating safely for any length of time? No surface control vessel at $250k per rider?

a company of absolute f***ing morons.....no other way to put it....

i hope whoever was responsible for this gets the full penalty (the CEO on board has already been served his just deserts at the expense of 4 other lives)

///

from article:

In a 2018 lawsuit, David Lochridge—who began working as OceanGate’s director of marine operations in 2015—alleged that he was sacked after pointing out to the company that the submersible had not been built or tested to suitable safety standards, potentially putting passengers “milliseconds from implosion.”

...

He also said in the lawsuit that paying passengers would not be aware or informed of the Titan’s “experimental viewport design,” the lack of sufficient safety testing of the hull, or that hazardous flammable materials had been used in its construction. He said he strongly urged the company to use a classification agency like the American Bureau ofShipping to inspect and certify the Titan.

However, he claimed that instead of taking his safety concerns on board, OceanGate immediately fired him.

OceanGate gave Lochridge approximately 10 minutes to immediately clear out his desk and exit the premises,” his lawyers alleged.

now, about the bolded.....that's some cold shit..... but did they laugh at him?

Thunderstorms this afternoon disturbing my fishing.

Pass the time with a 6 pack and hopefully it clears up before dark.. last night I didn't get off the water until 10:00pm and it was still light.
