I don't know about that, but I will say that I haven't appreciated just how ass he is in his own zone.

I don’t know those were some terrible questions asked in that interview...I mean short of literally throwing the entire organization under the bus what else could be said...I think draisaitl’s interview was WAY more entertaining...the guy is pissed and has no idea how to hide it...when an athlete gets sarcastic you know he’s pissed and Draisaitl was on full sarcasm mode in his interview

i will be brutally honest

i'm not convinced if this is something more then 91/93 ,till they prove different i see this team like the caps from a bunch of years back ,,

the game changes come PO time , the whistles get put away,,the game gets nasty/heavy

frankly, i don't see enough nasty or heavy

i hope i am dead wrong and to have to choke on the crow

I honestly have a hard time believing that as well. We have been burned many times by our Leafs lol

However, I have never wanted to be more wrong or eat more crow if we indeed go deep.

I will eat 2 crows if we do!
The playoffs are different but so far we faced Boston and the caps in the playoffs, 2 big heavy teams and we were young and not nearly as good then.
The core is older more seasoned and stronger. The additions are also the same and a great fit.
Back then this team had the mind set to deal with "heavy" teams.
Our core have all been winners at every stage in their lives and at every level playoff hockey is tougher and nastier than regular season. They have the will and are learning the how.
I'm not saying cup, but I'm seeing playoff success

Just wanted to give some love to someone I've been thoroughly impressed by all season. Bogo. He's often well positioned, calm under pressure and makes nice passes to exit the zone. Hell his bank stretch passes are something I never thought he had in his repertoire.

Brody, holl and muzzin have all been great as well. Rielly has really picked things up as of late and seems to have been given the green light to be activated in the o zone.

Dermott. Well. He hasn't been bad.

He literally manufactured an issue by diving last game then is doubling down on it this game as if it had some merit or payback was due. That's just crazy behaviour.
It's as if he forgets the game is recorded...lol

It’s always a special time to be a Maple Leaf Fan

Very true. I fell in love with the team during my first visit to Toronto in the nineties. On that trip I also saw a very young Jason Spezza play for Brampton in the OHL. They did make things hard for me, I have gone about twelve years without watching the Leafs actually win a game live, including a few really big defeats. Until a few years ago when Leo Komarov scored the winning goal and my curse was broken. I still cheer for him.

Such a pity international travel is difficult and Maple Leaf-fans cannot witness the games in person. That footrace between McDavid and Mikheyev must have been even more awesome from the stands.

Great win by a hard working team.
Toronto is that great team, this is the best team we have had since Gilmour came to this city.

Our next test is going to be against Winnipeg .
Skilled
Big
Tough
Goaltending
They have 4 lines to throw at us
Defense is there weak spot

I am really looking forward to seeing if we can play as well against them

The Oilers are almost impressively bad...

As in I'm impressed that a team with some of the talent they have can still be so very, very bad.

Beautiful. As a Flames fan, watching this series between your Leafs and the oilers brought me great joy and entertainment.
Thanks!

Glad to see/hear that Brodie is playing well for you. We miss him over here.
yo this guy is a f***ing STUD- why would your gm EVER include him in trade talks wtf???

I shouldn't look past Vancouver but I can't help it. WPG is looking good this season, they have a solid record and goal differential. Hard to rank teams the way the divisions are set up but based on their play so far it's hard to argue that they're not a top 10 team, maybe close to top 5. They have great goaltending too so ... three games against them next week is probably as good a measuring stick as we're likely to get this season.

When MTL was second in our division we handled them without too much trouble.

When EDM was second in our division we put an epic beating on them.

Now WPG is second in our division. I think they will be much tougher to handle, we'll see.

Perfect recipe coming up for a letdown boys. Tough travel schedule to Vancouver against a rested team.

And the crazy thing is I really don't care if they lose tonight. The Leafs have an insane lead on the division right now.

you sound like you are completely missing the point ,,this is not about 1 or 2 players

it's about a team attitude and right now,,i still see 3 ply charmin soft
I though i was in agreement with you. You must have misunderstood me :)
There is enough defensive structure (Keefe’s word) work ethic. They aren’t as soft on defense. Forwards aren’t crunchers but they are on pucks.

Hyman is the best case scenario for Khaira. His overall game’s downplayed because of the role he plays on his lines. I don’t think Khaira can maintain offensive zone puck possession and I certainly don’t think he has the skating chops either. It takes hockey IQ to be able to play all through the lineup and roles that Khaira may not have.
Kassian plays with McDavid lots :)

I seem to recall flames fans souring on him and swearing Giordano was the only reason Brodie looked good at all...they couldn’t wait to be rid of him...something about a lack of physicality if I remember correctly...I always thought him and Giordano were a solid pairing who complemented each other...Brodie has such a good stick and understands gap control so well he rarely gets stuck having to muck it up

They will be hungry again. I think it is Vancouver thinking don’t let down because you might think they are tired. There are no easy games, have to maintain the pace and take less penalties than them.
