He must be close to the current leader in regular season games played without ever playing in the playoffsBut "playoff Risto" is a mythical beast yet to be seen, he must be kept

is that true ? how do you get to a 1000 and never taste the PO ice..Jeff Skinner could hit 1000 games this year and if Buffalo misses the playoffs, he'll still be looking for his first appearance.
Risto sits at 687 games without a playoff appearance as of today.
Oilers fan coming in peace. Not here to try to pry Hart from you guys but I wonder if the two franchises can help each other out with some of our bad contracts. Recently it was made aware that Broberg (2019 8th Overall Pick) wants NHL ice time and the Oilers can't provide that with Ekholm, Nurse and Kulak signed long term on the Left Side and with a preference for veterans on the back end for any playoff runs. I'd like to see him find a spot instead of wasting away on our bench. Here's my offer and tell me what you think:
Ristolainen (5.1M x 4)
Atkinson (5.875M x 2)
Deslaurier (1.75M x 3)
17% Retention on Atkinson to even out the money (1M retained x 2)
For
Broberg (863K)
Campbell (5M x 4)
Ceci (3.1M x 2)
Foegele (2.75M x 1)
11.713M IN. 11.713M OUT. Flyers get a former 8th overall prospect in Broberg for their troubles. Foegele brings more speed and offence to your bottom 6 over Deslaurier and is on expiring contract, so can be flipped for more futures if it gets to that point at the TDL. Deslaurier and his 0 goals are gone and he becomes the Oilers problem for 3 more years. Ceci can fill in for Risto for the time being until your prospects are ready and his deal expires in 2 years opening up the possibility to flip him at next years TDL. Campbell's contract sucks but I wonder if he can finally over come his mental issues playing back in the States and would be able to take some load off of Hart. Atkinson seems overpaid for what he does but the Oilers are shallow at RW having gotten rid of both Yamo and Kostin in the Summer, so its stomachable.
Anyways don't hate me, this is my attempt at looking for a mutally benificial deal for both teams, and would like to gauge Flyers fan interest. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggested adjustments.

I'm gonna stop you right there. You can have Hart. In fact, you SHOULD have Hart. You should have had him 2 Thanksgivings ago.Oilers fan coming in peace. The rumor was the opposite. He’s not a target for them.Sean Walker is also rumored to Toronto.
it seems like you would need to add to dump Cambell and have the money come out equal...Oilers fan coming in peace. Everyone is rumored to Toronto.Sean Walker is also rumored to Toronto.
We can’t take on Campbell’s contract, whereas Risto will be tradeable, as bad as he is. Good ideas but Ersson and Hart are a good pair.Oilers fan coming in peace. :sigh: Several rumors I read from some Toronto and NHL sites mentioned Toronto being interested in Sean Walker similar to the Risto rumor. The rumor was the opposite. He’s not a target for them.
With all the capital they’ve given up recently, they may be looking for a guy with term or someone who they think will almost definitely re-sign like Tanev.
One possible move would be to swap Campbell + 2 2nds for Petersen. They have the same cap hit but Petersen's contract is 2 years shorter. Thus, a 2nd for each year of cap saved. We can’t take on Campbell’s contract, whereas Risto will be tradeable, as bad as he is. Good ideas but Ersson and Hart are a good pair.
"losing" until contract renegotiations.Looking ahead to next season, the Flyers will be losing three defensemen off of their present roster through UFA-Staal, Walker and Seeler. Right now the best internal replacements for them are Belpedio, Attard and Andrae. Those three going along with Sanheim Ristolainen York and Zamula looks to be a terribly weak blue line. Counting on a 20 year old Bonk to fill in a hole is asking quite a bit of him. The defense is pretty fragile.
Lol what is Campbells contract going to preclude them from doing in the next 3-5 years? No interest in Campbell. We have our own bad goalie contract in the AHL.
Not saying it can’t happen but Jeff Marek put Walker out there twice now but Friedman shot this down, for now. They obviously haven’t had a chance to address Risto but it seems getting someone in who will stay there is what they’re looking at doing. I don’t know who is saying anything else other than things not left unsaid here.:sigh: Several rumors I read from some Toronto and NHL sites mentioned Toronto being interested in Sean Walker similar to the Risto rumor.
A good pair for what? Vegas won a cup with Logan Thompson. Rangers won Jack with Lundquist. "Building from the back out" is so 1990sWe can’t take on Campbell’s contract, whereas Risto will be tradeable, as bad as he is. Good ideas but Ersson and Hart are a good pair.
One assumption that is being made is that the Flyers are going to solve the Oilers cap issues. To a degree they can but in the end they might be the ones that need to move guys around to help settle the problem. One possible move would be to swap Campbell + 2 2nds for Petersen. They have the same cap hit but Petersen's contract is 2 years shorter. Thus, a 2nd for each year of cap saved.
I agree with others that the original trade proposal has too many unnecessary moving parts. The Oilers would be better served targeting lower-cost RHD options like Walker ($2.65 m x 1) or Seeler ($775,000 x 1). Walker's value is very high right now due to his breakout season to date, so Broberg + Ceci / Kulak (cap) + 1st should be Briere's ask. Seeler might be the best fit due to low cap hit, his steady defensive play and he will punch faces. Were I Briere, I would ask for Broberg straight up.
