The guys you really want are definitely Walker or Seeler, but whether you have the means to afford them is the question.

We have many solutions for you but it's hard to make things actually work for both teams.
Seeler while he would save us cap space in a Kulak+ offer I just wouldn't do cause Kulak is a beast in the playoffs and is a hometown kid that wants to stay and win in Edmonton. So while the cap savings are enticing, I wouldn't take Kulak off this team.

Walker is having too good of a season to be able to afford. Another poster suggested Broberg + 1st + Ceci. Ceci isn't an issue per say at his cap hit, he's worth his money and we would rather save that 1st + Broberg to move Campbell in some form. Like Walker is probably worth that but considering other areas we have to fix, we won't have the assets to get Walker and fix those cap issues.

Yeh unfortunately not a deal the Oilers would entertain. Hart has super high potential to be an elite goalie for many years though, but hes not a sure bet. Bouch i'm so sold on, I could see him being a lock in the top 3 for defenceman scoring only surpassed by Makar and Hughes. And there's really no worry about missing playoffs in Edmonton, I don't think any fan is worried any more as our roster sits today. The coaching change solved ALOT of issues.
The coaching change just manifested a self-fulfilling prophecy. Once they started poorly, they had it in their heads that they were never going to get it straight until ‘something’ was going to be done and everyone realized it wasn’t going to be a trade, so firing the coach just lifted the mental block. Seems like it was decided who the next coach was going to be even before this season started.

Hmm yeh it kinda was. Well it was decided when Jeff Jackson was hired, cause he has wanted Knoblauch for a long time. No matter what eventually Woody and the Oilers would have slumped and Jackson may have made the coaching change. I get the feeling that this is just a coaching bump though, but I don't see it as that considering the Oilers with essentially the exact same roster (goalies included) were one of the best teams last year. Also Knob has made our defence look better than at any point in Woodcroft's time there.

Ristolainen (5.1M x 4)
Atkinson (5.875M x 2)
Deslaurier (1.75M x 3)
17% Retention on Atkinson to even out the money (1M retained x 2)

For

2025 1st
Broberg (863K)
Campbell (5M x 4)
Ceci (3.1M x 2)
Foegele (2.75M x 1)

Would this work?

I don't know, dude. It still just feels like too much gunk moving, like big logs of shit in a clogged toilet. I've been thinking about you guys with regard to a Hart trade, and my best guess is that we need a third team involved, because the two of us don't make great trade partners.

Top 5 is more likely for him, he's still way behind fox and Karlsson (for now) could also argue Heiskanen will always be above him as well, but time will tell, I personally like Bouchard and want to see him succeed, I was jealous when you guys got him, not so much with broberg, like he has the talent for sure, however is iq seems to be piss poor

True it's alot of moving parts, alot of moving junk, but ultimately it's a cap compliant trade as structured so its doable if the teams want it.

Honestly, whatever goalie we get will only need to be a 1B to Skinner. Despite his counting numbers this year, he was good 2 years in a row and looks to be already back in that form behind a better than ever Oilers defence. I like Hart, the entire city likes Hart, he's from here, I know guys that played with/against him, and he already has an existing relationship with our goalie coach. But the cost is prohibitive, especially if Bouch would need to be added, something the Oilers wouldn't do.

Yeh I see where your coming from, Top 5 does seem more likely, but you got to factor in the McDrai and Oilers PP effect, so that's why I'd put him Top 3 in offensive production which he's knocking on the door of right now. I'm only talking about Offensive production though, guys like Heiskanen and Fox are better overall players still, ill fully admit. Your assessment on Broberg is accurate i would say too, at this current point he doesnt think the game fast enough, he has some elite tools though NHL plus size and elite skating, average to good puck handling and shooting. The thing with his slow thinking though is that can improve for a young D-man just getting reps in this League. Do enough things over and over and it becomes easier and quicker to do. That was our hope with him anyways to get him some reps but this whole Win Now mode and the need to save our season put a wrench into those plans.

Appreciate the feedback. Yeh it was rumored that Toronto might want Risto. But they would need 50% for anything to happen, like they needed with Zadorov but couldn’t get the Flames to bite.

Yeh I don’t see Campbell as need for you guys definitely, he’s bad cap that I’m trying to send off with futures.

I would add a 1st on top of my previous off to make it more enticing. How does that sound?
I don’t see the Oilers adding a 1st to get rid of Campbell unless Hart is going the other way. And I haven’t seen a Brobert enough to know if he’s a risk worth taking. There is probably a deal somewhere to shake up the Oilers, they need Walker and Laughton more.

I do think Toronto’s taken a look at Philadelphia’s Rasmus Ristolainen, who has three seasons remaining on a five-year, $25.5M contract. But, I don’t believe the Flyers are eager to give him away, and there’s no rush for them to do anything while their group is playing well. That’s not to say it couldn’t be something down the road, but when the team is competing hard, getting good results and generally doing what is being asked of them — why throw a stink bomb into your dressing room?
