Walker is who they thought Ristolainen was. We got him in a dump. That’s exactly how that’s supposed to work.

I’m not terribly shocked he’s playing well and he’s playing 2RD because he came out of a good system and he only had to be dumped because of the numbers game LA had with younger players.

Buying out Risto at the end of the year isn't the worst thing in the world. Only one year over 1.777M per year. With the cap going up, it seems worthwhile.

I don’t think they’d buyout Ristolainen. He apparently has a big at least in Keith Jones. Jones apparently thinks Ristolainen is integral to playoff success regardless if the teams that generally hold Ristolainen in that regard are often ones that don’t make the playoffs in the first place.

Often? More like always. He's never made the Playoffs lol.

I know I was leaving room for interpretation because if you did like put him on a really good team they could get away with playing him in their middle or top pair but obviously Buffalo & the Flyers weren’t/aren’t those teams.

Like Florida obviously got away with playing Staal in their top four last year but that doesn’t mean it was/is a good idea.

We really need to get a third team involved in this trade. The problem is that Edmonton can't afford to sell anything half useful.

It really shows just how God awful Ken Holland is.

It also proves that the most important position in all of sports is actually the Owner. They hire everyone and shit rolls downhill. Edmonton has hilariously bad ownership. It should be the subject of an Adam McKay style satirical movie in the vein of Dont Look Up.

Why should we trade Hart? Finally get a decent goalie who is still young and everybody wants to ship him out.
Same with trading away Konecny.
Please give me the we need draft assets and prospects for the rebuild excuse. That would be great considering how we develop them so good.

So it's either keep good players who help the Flyers tread the waters of mediocrity and hurt their draft position, or trade these players to acquire young cheap talent who will get screwed developmentally anyway? Sounds like the Flyers org is f***ed

Their value diminishes once they sign their extensions. It makes no sense to lock them up when realistically if all goes well, this team isn’t competing for a cup for another 4 years.

Right, the Oilers need Hart to erase the sins of Holland and priors. But thanks to their collective sins they can't afford him.

Briere has proven not to be a moron.... so this is not happening lol
Edmonton’s 2024 1st round pick unprotected or with limited protection say only the top 5 would be a decent main piece in a trade for Hart. The Oilers are 10 points out and even if they make a remarkable run to the playoffs, the pick would still be in the teens at worst. I doubt there is deal out there with a higher 1st for Hart.
