I would like for this to be meaningful, but the other 4 Defensemen have absolutely no chance at the NHL roster. *shrug*
Nothing is meaningful until the final roster is set.
But starting Zamula with Sanheim says they're at least giving him a good look.
If Sanheim stays at RHD, then who plays LHD with him?
It's unlikely to be Risto or Walker or Attard, so that leaves York, Andrae, Zamula, Seeler.

I think they'll send most of the AHL players down after this game (or after Saturday) and that will tell us who's fighting over the last few spots. Think he first LHV exhibition game is October 3?

Given the first major draft was last summer (i.e. one with multiple extra high draft picks , the previous three drafts were short a pick each year), most of the top prospects won't be arriving for 1-3 years, Michkov, Bonk, the goalies, Barkey, Ciernak.

The 2022 draft is still in college, Gauthier, Kaplan (3rd), Bump (5th), McDonald (6th), only Gendron (7th) is available.

From 2021, Kosolov (3rd) in the KHL, Zanetti (4th) in Switz, Murchison (6th) and McLaughlin (7th) in college, Tuomaala (2nd), Samson (6th) are available

2020: Foerster (1st), Andrae (2nd), Wisdom (4th), Desnoyers (5th)
2019: York (1st), Brink (2nd), Attard (3rd)
2018: Farabee (1st), [JOB (1st)], Ginning (2nd), Ersson (5th)

So there aren't a lot of highly talented prospects pushing for jobs.
That's why rebuilding takes time, not just the 2-3 top players you get picking in the top ten for a few years, but the 3-5 years for most draft picks to arrive (if ever).

Jeff Marek says that Lassi Thomson is a guy Ottawa tried to attach to make whatever dump they’re trying to do. He was claimed by Anaheim.

Funny thing, a lot of people are going to be surprised by some things he said.

AV was an arrogant asshole, which of course, comes as no surprise.

He thought Chuck was a nice guy squeezed by AV, he asked to be traded b/c of AV.

He thinks Jones and Briere are bringing the mojo back, according to his buddies still with the team, he thought they lost how to be a "f**king Flyer."

He thought they should have kept Berube as HC instead of hiring Hakstol.

This Chris Maher podcast interview with Jake Voracek is amazing. He slags AV hilariously. I am only 17 minutes in and it's golden.

fantastic podcast..

weird how people on this board called out so many of the things Vora calls out..

i thought HFboards posters cant possibly know whats going on..

Where is the surprise?

We’ve said for years that if Fletcher had a backbone he should have told AV to f*** off. He didn’t. That’s an indictment on both of them but we’re not the ones that defended AV and Fletcher for years.

You're probably the only one that's surprised. Everyone told you one and two were happening and you denied it. Shocking, I know
