These aren't things the flyers look for, it's not the flyers wayA few months ago, stupid Kaplan wrote a piece on up-and-coming coaching and GM candidates. Here are a few excerpts on what's out there.
- (Brunette) has a way of connecting with guys. He's a really fun guy but is definitely serious when he needs to. I like his communication style."
- "If you spend 15 minutes in conversation with (Leach), you'll realize he has that 'it' factor," the former colleague said. "Like, this guy is a leader of men. Someone you'd have no problem being front-facing for your organization."
- Campbell has a way of connecting with players through positivity, empowering them to be part of the process.
- McCarthy coaches the D in Columbus, where one of his players said: "He's relatable as a coach. I love the way he sees the game, and he has a way of connecting with the young guys and getting the most out of them."
- McFarland ... was described by a respondent as a "progressive thinker."
- Van Ryn is constantly looking for ways to improve and learn; in the offseason, he enrolled in a neuroscience coaching program to tap into another way of mentoring people.

The problem here is, he wasn't buckled in
If it does I think you just have to move on. It would suck, but I don’t want that kind of thing on the team. I’d imagine it would be a PR nightmare too100% this ends badly for us...
A listener on the Snow The Goalie pod asked if the Flyers looked at Max Comtois, and while there wasn’t a connection made between the two, it was mentioned that he’s part of this so may be why he hasn’t signed and I wonder how far the investigation goes into him not being qualified.
Yea you hate to jump to conclusions, but that looks horrible for Formenton. Here is a pretty good article on it the whole thing.
The woman elected not to name any of the players involved, and stated in her original claim that it was eight "players for, and members of the CHL and Hockey Canada, including but not limited to members of the Canada U20 Men’s Junior Hockey Team."Hockey Canada scandal, explained: Police allege five members of 2018 World Juniors team of sexual assault
From the SN article: Victor Mete and Jordan Kyrou confirmed that they did not attend the gala and were not in London at the time of the incident. The following players have come out either via personal statement or with their agency to say that they were not involved with the allegations: Jake Bean, Kale Clague, Max Comtois, Dillon Dube, Dante Fabbro, Cal Foote, Jonah Gadjovich, Carter Hart, Brett Howden, Cale Makar, Colton Point, Taylor Raddysh, Sam Steel, Tyler Steenbergen Robert Thomas and Conor Timmins. The following players have stated that they have fully cooperated with the investigation but declined to comment further: Boris Katchouk, Drake Batherson and Michael McLeod.Alex Formenton is the lone player that has not made any comments to date.
I think most people assume Formenton must allegedly be John Doe 1. He played in London at the time. Ottawa let him go to Europe to play in Switzerland this year.
It seems fairly obvious, but he's innocent until proven guilty. The London Police, Hockey Canada and NHL/CHL need to report soon on any charges/discipline for the players. It's been dragging on too long and too many guys have clouds hanging over their heads - some will dissipate, others will turn into swords....Yea you hate to jump to conclusions, but that looks horrible for Formenton.
Not really tinfoil at allMy tinfoil hat take is that Val exited before the potential shitstorm.
I might be wrong, but I don't think her leaving has anything to do with this investigation at all. She was leaving once they brought in Hilferty...My tinfoil hat take is that Val exited before the potential shitstorm.
Yeah I think at this point it is safe to assume this report is going to be devastating for a lot of players. Yes in court you're innocent until proven guilty but the longer this drags on the more it really seems like this is gonna be ugly (in America anyway...not sure how the Canadian justice system works). Here is a pretty good article on it the whole thing.

Foote and Timmins have both been traded since the case was reopened in July of 2022. Additionally, Raddysh and Steenbergen were traded after the case was closed in 2021.In unrelated news, how come Breire hasn't traded Hart yet?
If it is devastating then they should face actual consequences, not just wringing of hands and clenched jaws.Yeah I think at this point it is safe to assume this report is going to be devastating for a lot of players. Given how tight the hockey community is, I have no doubt that there are lots of people in hockey management who know the precise identities of all 8 players involved. Players talk, to each other, their agents, their coaches.Foote and Timmins have both been traded since the case was reopened in July of 2022. Additionally, Raddysh and Steenbergen were traded after the case was closed in 2021.
Absolutely. f*** these guys. Can't imagine what the victims went/are going throughIf it is devastating then they should face actual consequences, not just wringing of hands and clenched jaws.
