I would play the game myself, but why can’t we all in society just come clean? I know exactly what Hathaway is going to say. Why not just say winning is not important to me as much as money and term?

Well, if he was honest, he'd point out he not only has his retirement fund, but a chance for PT to showcase himself for a playoff team, instead of hoping the team he signs with makes the playoffs.

Hasn’t Jonesy had the same hot mic issue when he was in the box?
Jonesy said dumb stuff all the time on purpose. I love an apology like this from him because it is probably the emptiest apology ever given. You know he probably high-fived the guy.

Keith Jones = George Santos

It was great that Philly offered me a two-year deal. Not sure if I'll be dealt at this deadline or in '25, but I hope to end up on a Cup contender.

On their defense, imagine trying to promote a team when:

The only prospect with superstar potential won’t arrive til 2026 or perhaps never

The coach is arguably the biggest asshole in the NHL

The medical staff is incompetent

The GM has no experience

The team president was hired because he knows a lot of people and is fun at parties.

The owner is a multi billion dollar conglomerate that might not even be aware that they own an NHL franchise

Good luck!

I agree with almost all of this but most teams don’t have “superstar” potential prospects. Maybe I just have stricter criteria for the definition than most. I still think Gauthier is underrated in this board. He’s done great at every level he’s played at. He might not turn into a “one of the best in the league” type of player, but I think we’ll be happy with him

Gauthier should be a good complimentary piece to Michkov. I still haven't really seen him at C, but he will be a fine LW, either way. They need another gamebreaker and a strong C. Have some depth with skill and size coming up. It's going to take a few more years to build up a D good enough to contend, but the goaltending depth could help acquire necessary pieces down the line. They really need to have a poor year and draft very early to get more pieces for the puzzle.

Yeah I agree. A couple high draft picks the next couple years would be huge. A 1c and 1d would go a long way and probably make us a contender down the road. It’s idealistic and easier said than done though.

I’m not sure if Gauthier is a C or winger either, and I also think he is a complimentary piece, in that he will be as good as who he plays with. I think he can be an elite triggerman if paired with a great playmaker

Here it comes....

If NHL names and suspends players allegedly involved, affected players would likely appeal any sanctions to an arbitrator, as per CBA, and may pursue defamation lawsuits vs league, said agent of one player who attended 2018 Hockey Canada gala.

(While an investigating officer in October wrote in court documents he believes there are grounds to charge at least five players, police in London continue to decline comment other than to say an investigation is ongoing.)
