Taking 5 minute majors and getting ejected f***ing matters.
BUT don't you think winning matters more ? The only reason we beat a good team tonight when we've been losing to some of the worst teams in the league is because this kid shows up and gives a shit and SOMEHOW that made a difference to the these prima donnas who've been playing like they just don't care. .

Igor just immense in that one. Insane game.
I'd probably give Trocheck and Schneider the other 2 stars
Trocheck and Fox for me. Panarin is so important to this teammate but the game belonged to Shesterkin. Years down the line this one will be among Shesterkin Classics replays.

One more thing Borgen in a single game made more plays expected from Trouba than the disgruntled former captain hadn’t made in a couple weeks worth of games before the trade.

Maybe I'll start watching the Rangers again this season after the WJC's. They're going to have to win some games and Kreider, Zibanejad for two are going to have to start playing hockey again. Right now I think we're a real reach for the playoffs and if we're not going to the playoffs I'm not going to worry all that much about winning games against Dallas. If we are going to the playoffs the team has dug themselves enough of a hole where they'll have to play some seriously good hockey pretty much the rest of the way. Again if we're not making it losing more means a better 1st round draft pick and moving some of these guys at the deadline for more draft picks.

So I watched the clip with Rempe/Heiskanen. Probably worth a penalty--a 5 maybe/maybe not. Not for elbowing though...more like a boarding/charging if you wanted to do that. A player making a hit doesn't look to go to face first into the glass despite Trouba trying that with Necas in last year's playoffs. They look to turn and hit them with their side into the boards. It's what I think Matthew was trying to do there. He didn't really plow him with the elbow. It looked to me he was trying to maneuver to his side for the hit. Will he be suspended? Possibly.

In any case I said this at least a few times in the off season and early this year that because of his size and his physical game he's going to get suspended now and again and the team and the fans are going to have to live with that unless the Rangers trade or waive him to another team and there will be other teams that will pick him up if given the chance. He's 22. Growing pains. I like him but he still needs work cleaning things up a bit. But if we had lost tonight blaming him for it when you have guys making big money who haven't been pulling their weight? I don't think so. The team has been a shitshow for the last month and a half and that's not on him.

That was the best game in a while.

How are we so bad defensively, yet so good on the PK when u play defense the entire time. I just dont get it.

Rempe was awesome, until he went full rempe.

Igor earned his dough tonight.

Urhoborg both fit in nicely.

On Rempe's second drawn penalty, he should have easily scored. He stayed outside and Nils held on for dear life but getting position on Nils should have been easy for him if he routed himself properly. I imagine they'll go over that one on video but I was surprised with the praise for that one. I guess credit for him to going to a spot but he didn't actually get to where he should have been.

Nice burst on the 3rd one though.

Hit was indefensible. Thats a major every time. Boarding/elbowing have never been legal and this one could have been called as either. League already has his number and thats because he's given them a reason. Third time he's been tossed for a bad hit and 2 of them were no brainers (the Bastian one was a charging minor at worst, refs called the result rather than the play.)

BUT don't you think winning matters more ? The only reason we beat a good team tonight when we've been losing to some of the worst teams in the league is because this kid shows up and gives a shit and SOMEHOW that made a difference to the these prima donnas who've been playing like they just don't care. .

The reason they won tonight is because Igor literally had a career best game where they spent quite literally an entire period on the PK.

Didnt watch the game but glad we got the win. Watched the hit from Rempe. If he was 3 inches shorter, no one cares about the hit. 2 minute boarding minor. Heiskanen milked it in a game he knew was lost.

My favorite thing about Rempe is that my entire life it's been open season on the Rangers star players, and now that we have the big bad wolf on our team, the mainstream media wants him banned from the NHL. If someone hit Lindgren like Rempe hit Heiskenan, no one would give a shit.

I been posting ad nauseam that Rempe needs to be in Hartford. He is not ready.
As soon as his upcoming suspension is over he needs to go back there.
Organization should not rush a 22 year old’s development.
If he stays up with the Rangers he will be the target of every Referee.
