It’s been the last few years… this is the year… this is the year. Maybe next year? They went out and got Giroux and Debrincat cause this was the year right.
Can't help stupid. Just have to look at the age of all the players to see where the team is at in the rebuild. It's a process, I'd imagine you'd know that being a leaf fan. Is this the year? Is this the year they win a playoff series. Stay tuned.

Of course gotta change topics to the leafs. Typical. I’ll be the first to say the Leafs playoff success is putrid. I’ll also say the Sens rebuild had been putrid. They are way behind. Should be a power house by now
The 2020 draft was the pinnacle of the rebuild. Those players are 20 and 21 now. It's not way behind. It's actually right where it was always going to be. Dorion is trying to save his job and to an extent has rushed it. He's an idiot so if you want to pile on to him go for it.

Wait. You believe in jynxes? At what age? I'm curious.

Wait. You dont read humor. At what age ? Im curious.

They are 2-5 since 4th march. They have been buying and have faced weak teams. How can you explain this other than a jinx thread ?!?

They were both drafted 3 years ago. Norris Batherson Pinto all drafted 4-6 years ago. This rebuild has been terrible. Fuming at what? Having the Sens be irrelevant? I’d rather they be good so the battle of Ontario can exist again. That was fun.

Lol but why do you sound so bitter. That was my question.

Why do you think you don't see me in the first thread after the sens are eliminated every year going "HA. I keep hearing that they were gonna win the cup."

Why do you think I don't bother doing that? Let's see how close you are to the right answer.

Lol, I guess I don't see the humour when it isn't creative or new.

It's like the "I don't see a pricetag, must be free" and then when someone says "no. Why would you think it's free" and they say "kidding. Can't you see the humour in that"

No..no one sees the humour in overplayed generic jokes that have been used for decades. There's a reason no one laughs at jynx jokes and no stant up comedian is making them. They wouldn't get a laugh.

The sens failing isnt creative or new but still I find it very humorous

That's not the joke though..the joke was acting as if jynxes exist as an adult..I'm saying that isn't funny and should be called out for either being delusional if serious or not funny if kidding.

It kinda seems like Sens fans are going to replace Montreal and Toronto fans as the most annoying on HFboards.
This thread is mostly a circle jerk of Toronto, Montreal and Detroit fans. Most sens fans weren't in agreement with OP posting this thread but sure, paint the whole fanbase with that stroke.

Sucks for FLA that they're wasting away a prime year at a chance of a cup run. Those are rare as is, but when your team is up against the cap + has no first-round picks for the foreseeable future + is in win now mode, then it is the ultimate failure not to make the playoffs. Wasted opportunity this year.

Lol someones upset. Jesus Christ. Did the sens beating the shit out of your team really anger you that much that you're waiting for a thread about the sens to go "HA" and then throw in shade at batherson when there isn't any proof of any wrong doing yet and you talk about tkachuks class?
No, I've actually been throwing shade at Batherson all year. I just don't like the player. His interview early in the year was pathetic when he said "I'm living the life as an NHL player." He showed no remorse whatsoever for the victim.

As for Tkachuk, he's literally never won anything, so yeah I think he could cary himself differently on the ice. He's the captain of an NHL team, so in my opinion he should act like it. It makes it easy to laugh at your, what is it, 6 game losing streak now, because he's your leader. It's funny.

Sens fans absolutely love to dish it out, but when someone fires back, you guys get all defensive and hurt lol. If you're gonna dish it out, learn to take it too!

Yes it is a wasted year. But they aren’t pressed against the cap. They get about 10 million of space with yandle and hornqvist coming off the books.

What was the plan with Dorion moving him? Did he really think Talbot would be the answer for a few years?

Forsberg had a stellar season, better than Gustavsson in the year he was traded.

The Senators were terrible that year but he still put up a 2.82 with a .917 in 46 starts.

Of course, Anton tore both MCLs.

Talbot was always meant to be an experienced back-up/platoon for Forsberg.

There was a lot of dunking on the Leafs this summer by Sens fans. I think this year is just a nice wake up call to the fanbase that it's really hard to be good over a sustained period. With that being said, they are right there with NJ and Buffalo in terms of teams I think will run the East in the near future. Too many high draft picks + excellent long term contracts to key guys. Stutzle and Norris for 16m is just crazy value when I consider that on my squad, AM might take up a similar cap hit by himself.

I should be enjoying their failure more than I am, but I legitimately like how they are built and positioned with new ownership coming in. It's not like the Habs where I savour every embarrassing loss.

It's a wake-up call to maybe try someone different behind the bench.

DJ Smith appears to be a nice guy that the players like, but the team leaks goals and hasn't looked organized defensively for his entire tenure.

Naturally, they aren't going to fire a GM and/or coach when the team is up for sale, as presumably the new ownership would want to pick their own guys.

It's still frustrating to be going through Groundhog Day with this guy where every season he's coached, the team has a terrible start and struggles to get back into the race by the end of the season.

It's hard to get excited about that value when Norris played a grand total of 8 games this year.

Between Norris, injuries to Zub and Chabot, both our goalies going down at the key point of the season, it hasn't been easy.

That of itself is frustrating because it gives DJ Smith a bit of an excuse which I think he doesn't deserve at this stage.

Again, another thing that was prematurely rubbed in Leaf fans faces when he went over to the Sens.

I wonder if Sacco might be a possibility. I can't imagine he wants to be an assistant in Boston forever.

I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I didn't want him at all, and I don't know too many Senators fans who did.

It appeared as if the Senators were once again diving into the bargain bin and picking up a guy with no NHL head coaching experience because he was presumably cheap.

You guys are so sensitive that you're making shit up that didn't actually happen.

That's revisionist history. There were all kinds of "DJ has the Sens playing the right way, why did Toronto let them steal him?". We're bombarded with this nonsense all the time. Every ex-player is Crosby, every ex-coach is Arbour. DJ Smith was just another one that got away.

I really thought Ottawa would snap up Bruce Cassidy. To me, Ottawa has the personnel to play his scheme.

How is it revisionist history when I provided the link to the exact thread on the Senators board from when he was hired?

It's actual history.

Give it a read and be enlightened.

This is absolute nonsense.

Sounds like something you're hearing in the Leaf Nation echo chamber.

The nicest thing anyone says about DJ Smith is that "he's good for the kids' development".

I really thought Ottawa would snap up Bruce Cassidy. To me, Ottawa has the personnel to play his scheme.

Again, he probably cost too much.

Sens are going to waltz into the playoffs every year...still waiting though.

I've said it many times and I'll say it again, they're always a team that looks great on paper. Just like the past years however, nothing to show for on the ice.

But it's okay, they should waltz into the playoffs next year.

Well, the Sens would get to play for a cup. It’d just take about another decade for all those top picks grow up.

Thank god Chychrun got out of that hopeless situation on the 26th place team in the league and upgraded all the way to the 23rd place team.

The Senators have lost 4 straight and are still ahead of Arizona by 7 points?

Yikes.

Sounds like Jakob made the right move.

Good point, but let's be honest, even if Arizona lucks into Bedard the Sens are almost certainly going to remain the better team, at least for the duration of Chychrun's contract.
