Initial ratings matter to advertisers because those are the people that may actually be watching the commercials however it's 2021 so the ratings should wait to be released and include DVR watches. I know many people that tape everything they consume through cable/satellite.

I don’t watch hardly anything on DVR or on demand even. even if it’s a show on a Sunday night and I’m watching football, I’ll wait for a re-air. But recording I guess you can skip more commercials (I know/knew some cases you don’t), so that’s why the live aspect are so important to networks.
Smackdown was #2 in the key demos. College football was number 1. Great number considering the competition.
Besides football coverage (which nothing on TV comes even close to competing with), the first and third hour of RAW topped the key demo in their time slot.

It’s even more strange to point that out since that’s normal. Same with NBA (Rampage was #2 behind that on cable since college football was on ABC). It would be news if it wasn’t, aside from a major news story.
This Hook kid has some serious buzz right now (even my husband who hasn't followed wrestling in years know about him). It's been years since I've ever seen anything like it. I'm expecting a big number for Rampage. Maybe the best number since Punk's debut. I'd even go as far to say Rampage could rival Smackdown in the all important demo.

Another dominating victory for Smackdown yet again. Can someone change the title to this thread? It feels like an eternity ago that Rampage was competing with Smackdown.

Why? It’s true. Rampage beat Smackdown on FS1. So much so that on New Year’s Eve they aren’t going to run a show that’s being bumped to FS1. Smackdown on Fox isn’t apples to apples
Because it happened like 2 months ago and AEW ratings have been in a decline ever since. lol if you really think they aren't running a show because of AEW. NYE is the worst tv night of the year. I'm sure all the AEW fanboys will stay in and watch rampage tho.
Anyone else notice a ton of delusional AEW fans all over the internet. Social media, reddit, etc. Are they just paid shills? They have to be I assume.

Nobody actually expects Rampage to beat Smackdown. Nobody reasonable at least. It’s an A-show on network TV in prime time vs. late night B-show on cable. And Rampage is a B-show no matter what they say.
Wrong. "The Booker of the Year" himself said rampage was equal to dynamite.
"And I promise Rampage isn’t going to be a secondary show. Rampage is going to be the partner of Dynamite, the equivalent to Dynamite. We have these two strong franchises Dynamite and Rampage, and they are our weekly core properties." -BOTY
