I'm a Libra, so everything with me is weighing and balancing. I take the good, I take the bad (and then I have the Facts of Life...ugh).

But this is a thing that's really happening. This we can and will celebrate.
I don’t know much about astrology, but I’m a Taurus. Are Tauruses pessimists? And yea, you appear to be the most balanced guy on here.

I think Bob said 9/10 scouts still had Hughes at 1 so maybe the Rangers have him at 1 and Hughes at 2 but either way the consensus looks good for us.

10 of 10 had Hughes number one.

9 out of 10 had Kakko number two at the mid-terms.

That has gone up to 10 out of 10 for Kakko at two. Hughes remained unchanged.

On two hours of sleep but so worth it. To finally realize this team got what it deserved! K2 coming soon kakko and Kravtsov.

Don't worry, I've spent a lot of time on here arguing about depressing things.

I'll gladly invest the time to provide regular reminders about how this is going to happen.

Frankly, I’m looking at Kakko as a given. To me, the excitement is now what else Gorton does up to and on draft night.

Hmm I swear I heard this like two days ago, I’ll look for it.

Edit: Nope guess not, I’m just making shit up at this point lol.

It might have been the mid-term article from January. It's been floating around here, particularly with speculation that the Rangers are high on Zegras and may have him ranked 4th.

By the way, I'm happier than a pig in shit.

Tampa fan here. Congrats on the results last night. I am a huge fan of the rebuild so far. The pieces are starting ever so slightly to come into focus. And I see a team in a year or two with loads of high end talent. Gorton is showing that patience indeed is a virtue.

Thanks, and good luck to you, win that cup, so we can get another first round pick. :thumbu: ;)

Also a Taurus and a skeptic who believes luck is a bigger factor in success than people want to believe and often gets mistaken for “a great plan” by the very lucky since they have no idea that those who failed had similar if not better plans.

In 3 years Gorton will be a genius because we got the right ping pong ball to drop. I’m grateful for the luck FINALLY.

My concern isn't the Rangers going off the board, it's pretty clear who the consensus two best players are. My worry is that the Devils take Kakko, who I have a strong preference for.

That’s true. I still think Grots is one of the best GMs in the league, but luck is also playing a big factor. But it isn’t all luck. Gorton is consistency coming out on top in trades and in most of his draft picks.

It was pretty obvious to me in a couple of Gortons interviews when he was questioned about the possibility of Hughes vs. Kakko that he was not only amped to select either of the two but it was pretty slam dunk. Reading between the lines of course.

I still cant believe we are finally landing one of these kids.
