We're close enough this year, that I can already feel some pent up aggression at the TSN staff stretching this out over the course of an hour.

Ok if I can`t find any live streams someone need to post the lottery results live without trolling. I can`t tune in on US TV channels from EU or TSN if they are going to send it live? ))

I'm sure we'll all be freaking out in real time on here! Especially if our name doesn't come out in the 6th/7th place envelope like it is most likely to.

I proposed a playin solution. Would never be approved. I agree with Edges proposal of a drop in odds, regardless of where an team finishes, of they got a top 1 to 3 pick in the previous 3 seasons.

I want Kakko and we need the 1st OV pick to get that guy ... unless VAN sits up there.

I don`t know yet if we somehow ended with #1st pick - I think I would go for a center, because we don`t know how good Kratsov is and he is a RW position player too just like Kakko. I would go for Jack Hughes which we need as well and he can replace Mika, and we have a very good 2nd line center with him who will replace Kevin Hayes, sign Zucc & Panarin if we win for sure and we are ready for playoffs next season. If that happen we need to resign Kreider too start focus on playoffs hockey and sign a defender as well.

Had the same idea, but best of 3 is way too many games it’ll go on for weeks. Each round is 1 game, but there needs to be an additional incentive for players because getting a higher draft pick is not on their list of priorities. In any case it would never happen for many reasons but it’s a fun idea.

The series for the #1 pick needs to go 3. To get NHLPA buy in add a financial incentive of $2MM to the winning team (each player gets $100k).

What about a multi-placement lottery?

Teams 27-31 in the standings fall anywhere between draft postitions 1-5, teams 22-26 fall between draft positions 6-10, teams 16-22 fall between draft positions 16-21, but give everyone a change to get top 3 first... dunno how you woudl calculate this.

I just hate this system. Lottery everyone. That's how you eliminate tanking. There's so much chance involved that you can't purposely tank to get better draft position

This makes tanking even more likely cause you need to be in that bottom group to get a top pick. That’s the complete opposite of deterring teams from tanking

Just remember that would likely mean NJ drops 2 and would for sure drop 3 spots too.

Silver linings are nice, since NJ can't draft for shit unless they're gifted a #1 OA selection.

It would never happen and it's not realistic, but I'd love to see some sort of mini tournament for the top 8 picks.

Worst team plays the 8th worst
2nd worst plays the 7th worst
3rd and 6th worst play each other.
4th and 5th play each other.

All best of 3 series. Losers play each other in another bracket to determine the seeding. The remaining teams that dont qualify get ranked in standings order.

Winner gets the #1 pick.

Aside from insurance and players not playing games for free, this rewards teams that are losing on purpose cause they can be good if they wanted and hurts the teams that are legit terrible

woah guys think positive soon lottery.. I was not too serious about the whole Brady Skjei thing, but trying to be positive and our 2018 defender draft picks will indeed improve with age for sure - they could be our future top #4 for us Rangers after some years developing.
