GDT: The Powerhouse @ NHL Draft Lottery | 2nd Overall Pick

I've decided that the league needs to take a new approach to this lottery.

I like what @Edge said about reducing odds if you've won the lottery. I also want to propose increasing odds if you've gone several non-playoff years without winning it. Making the playoffs resets your odds to the default odds for that standings position, and in the event you miss the playoffs the following year, same rule, same odds as standings position default. Lastly I think they need to lottery the top 5 draft picks, not just the top 3

Ranger fans truly are a strange breed.
If this argument doesn't epitomize everything this franchise has inflicted on its fans over the years, I don't know what does.

If you're 15th--14th--13th-- really the only direction to go is up. If you're 1st, 2nd, 3rd--the only direction is down--so staying the same for them is best. Us--we're kind of towards the front--so yeah there's a chance we go up but a greater chance we go down.

Yeah but we take the average girl home and ruin her, enter into a steady relationship for some years, then go separate ways feeling kinda weird about it

Update-I think I did really well on the test urprisingly, much easier than I thought it’d be. Hopefully it worked
 
Thinking it may be somewhat inevitable that some team jumps us, (unless of course it's the Rangers that the hockey Gods allow to do the jumping) we will pick 7th in that case.

With that said, I would like to go on record that I really wouldn't mind if it's Florida, Arizona or Minnesota that does the jumping. As long as it isn't.......

........The Flyers (for obvious reasons)
........The Black Hawks (they've already been blessed with Kane and Toews and multiple Stanley Cups.
........The Oilers (screw them despite my empathy towards McDavid and Draisatl.

And don't allow Buffalo to go any higher than where they stand right now. Screw them. I was legit happy for their success early on, but realize now.......they don't deserve any "gifts" any more than they already have been given. Oilers part deux.

I would shit my pants if we got 1OA, but this team is much more likely to be the bridesmaid. I say we get extremely lucky and fortunate to get 2OA. Which would mean Kakko. Can't imagine ANY TEAM taking him over the consensus, in FEAR they would get ripped apart by their home teams press.
I honestly would prefer Kakko, but would NEVER have the balls to choose him over Hughes, for reasons stated above.

What about a multi-placement lottery?

Teams 27-31 in the standings fall anywhere between draft postitions 1-5, teams 22-26 fall between draft positions 6-10, teams 16-22 fall between draft positions 16-21, but give everyone a change to get top 3 first... dunno how you woudl calculate this.

I just hate this system. Lottery everyone. That's how you eliminate tanking. There's so much chance involved that you can't purposely tank to get better draft position
