I agree... I think I was trying to highlight that we're nowhere near a basement team and hanging your hat on a top 3 pick is a bad idea. Hughes or Kakko would be monstrous for this franchise, but there is also a shit ton of talent to be had 6-10.

Hopefully Tampa lives up to expectations and wins the damn cup finally and we use that pick to draft a super high risk/high upside guy

1. We got what Zucc was worth today not 2 years ago.
2. He'll be back in July so these picks are free.
3. Sometimes the meaningless point is worth the real-life hockey lesson of not quitting against the defending champs.
