I know nothing about him but looks like he’s been a starter for every team he’s played for and has decent stats. So they’re replacing Bush and Spillane with Holcomb and Roberts — nothing crazy but seems like a slight upgrade which is nice.
it just gives us more freedom at the draft. mlb is no longer a great need.

Oh great, we're going to blame Ben's playoff shortcomings for the last 10 years of his career on Tomlin again.

Yup Jack is cut. So we’re back to probably drafting one somewhat early.

It feels like they also have a little bit of money to play with now between this and the Minkah restructure.

I don't have a problem with Bud as long as he signs a league vet minimum deal.

My thought is they are opening up money for DT/NT like A'Shawn Robinson, Greg Gaines or Andrew Billings. I really like Robinson, he is still semi young at 28 for this next season. Sign him to a 3 year deal and lock down the position for the next few years.

Well f*** me then, haha. I think this makes our MLB group worse. We’ll see.

I didn’t like Spillane or Bush. Injuries and attitude ruined him. But I was a jack fan and didn’t think he was a problem. Numbers game I guess.
I also expected Jack to stay.

Did they change coaching or scheme this off-season at LB?

Is the position group now Holcomb, Roberts and Robinson? You’d have to think they’re adding in the draft.

So they marginally upgraded most of their biggest need positions except for defensive line. Meaning that they do not desperately need to draft for a certain position.

I like that approach.

Gives them a lot of flexibility. To either sit tight and see what falls to 17 or to move up to get one of the tackles or Carter, but only if the price makes sense.

Maybe, but not early. Later for depth.

Or if they do go very early I am going to be disappointed as it would be a reach.

One of the weakest LB classes in years.

I agree not early. Better players at positions of greater need. IMO anyway. Hopefully. Right? But I do figure that position needs added to, especially with Jack's departure. And yeah FA isn't over.
