50% retained ($3.325M) should be pretty valuable for a team looking for a top 6 scorer that is 28 soon. He’s averaged pretty much 1st line production rate his entire career.

Contract talks haven’t gone far and both sides don’t seem to be very close at all. Management will want to get assets for him if they can’t agree on an extension this month and to not risk losing him for nothing. There is zero chance management will keep him past the deadline without an extension even if the Canucks are in the wild card.

First line goal scoring winger?

I think a ton of teams should be in on him.

I'd expect a 1st rounder in return for him, but given what Rutherford and Allvin accepted for Miller, you never know.

Bottom line is that I think the first team to offer a 2025 first rounder for him gets him.

Wouldn't be shocked if he goes for something closer to the Toffoli return. Jets are probably out on him, I don't think he's fast enough to fit into the aggressive Arniel scheme

Hasn't been the same since the concussion earlier this season. They really should be looking to get a 1st for him, and re-tool a bit up front. Chytil and O'Connor look like good additions... a few more like that and the team vibe will have changed a lot, along with the new-look d. M Pettersson is solid, D-Petey looks NHL ready and has made great strides this year, Mancini is a bit of a wildcard who will get a look soon, and Willander is a stud. If Demko can return to form, Van may just turn things around pretty quickly.

But yes, don't overthink it: get a 1st for Boeser and move forward

With the cap changes for next year, I think there will be a lot of teams in on him, including non-playoff teams if he's willing to sign. Nashville, Columbus, Calgary, Chicago and San Jose all have other team's picks which are 17-32 so may be tempted if he's willing to go to them.

With his injury history it may put some off, but plenty of teams could do with another 60pt scorer.

I think Boeser should be a solid fit for Caps, first 1,5 years in top6 and then takes over the Ovi-Spot when gr8 retires.

1st + prospect for Boeser (extended) , done.

Canucks aren’t going to trade him unless they get creative and trade him for assets that get them a different top 6 two way goal scorer. So someone like Boeser…
