Honestly the NFL doesn't need to rock the boat on this stuff. Ratings are up. Jay Z partially owns a team. Look who was in the halftime show this year; that would have never happened when the Kaepernick stuff was the headline.

The main issue at this point is minority head coaches. People had largely forgotten Kaepernick before the last 72 hours.

Good ole Dionturd the ball dropper.

In Madden 22, he always gets picked up by a team from free agency and starts. Winds up like top 5 in the MVP voting at the end of the year, haha.
Really? He never gets signed when I played the game. He just stays in free agency until he retires.

I don't think he's good at all but I mean blokes have given worse a chance, so hopefully they shut up finally.

Another internal hire…I’m shocked.

Rooney’s dumbass will continue to be involved in everything. Nothing will change; Tomlin isn’t going anywhere.

Omar is good with a calculator - yay.
I would have preferred that the Steelers chose outside the organization.

It sends all kinds of the wrong signals. Not that working for the Steelers should disqualify anyone. Simply that I don't believe that this organization seriously looked elsewhere before deciding.

Especially someone's that's been there that long. It's just not a fresh voice and they need that. Now it's just another drone that speaks the steelers language and won't really bring a fresh new outlook.

Andy Weidl coming in to be the assistant GM brings a fresh new outlook, especially if some of his responsibilities are what they’re rumored to be. It pretty much seems like he’ll replace a lot of what Colbert did. With Weidl and Sheldon White, that’s two external hires filling pretty prominent roles.

It does sound like Khan will keep the continuity in the front office in terms of business admin, but bringing in Weidl is a fresh face with fresh ideas and maybe a different direction. I don't ever recall hearing of Khan doing anything personnel related. The de facto GM, IMO is Weidl. That is who will be building the product on the field.

Yep…but thinking on it, it’s fantasy drafts for online franchise. I play with friends and we draft our entire teams. He gets grabbed by CPU teams every time and finishes top 5. We restart the franchises after a season or two.

Ah the good ole shitty EA crap. In the NHL games I'd see a team pick up an over the hill free agent and he'd tear it up on like Detroit or Arizona and I laugh at the simulation settings being realistic.

He’s up about 12 pounds I think, nearing Derrick Henry’s combine weight at over an inch shorter. He looks great at OTAs, but I subscribe to the belief that the weight catches up to skill players over a 17 game schedule plus playoffs. Will be interesting to see if the weight helps or hurts.

Yeah, that shows that he was being hit in the back field.....which isn't his fault.
Yep. You can see explosiveness when he runs, jumps, etc. He ran behind the worst line I’ve ever seen last year. I’m actually really looking forward to watching what the offense does this season.

i think it hurts….sure he’s not a burner to begin with but extra weight can cause more injuries…I wonder if they team told him to put it on or if he did it on his own

According to Najee he played at 240 last year so I guess he didn’t actually put on much weight.

Fittipaldo was saying on the Fan this morning that Matt Canada’s system continues to be slowly implemented into the team, but not quite there yet.

Why did we hire a nobody offensive coordinator to implement some crazy system that takes years to establish? What is so complicated? He sends players in motion.

Canada is one of those guys who seems to fail upward. Forrest Gump of the NFL
He sure has the media fooled around here. Be prepared to hear the “he’s still implementing his system” excuses for the next two years. Good for Canada to actually fool people with this bs.

Find me an extended period of success for Canada at the college/pro level and I'll call you a liar.

The guy has failed everywhere. But it was all old man Ben's fault right? In 6 months it'll be "we're not executing" which is page 1 of Tomlin's BS book.

I said it last year and I'll say it again. The Pirates will win a WS before the Steelers win another SB.

I don’t think Canada is a good OC at all but it’s the second week of OTAs. And his supposed system and Ben’s strengths did not mesh at all so last year was some weird mix of systems that was a complete disaster. It was a dumb hire but this is the first year he can actually do whatever it is he wants to do. He’s got no excuses this year though.

Still wish they would have just hired Pep Hamilton. No clue if he’d be a good OC but he seems like a QB whisperer which would be nice to have right now.
