Brandon Hunt and Omar Khan were assistant GM's under Kevin Colbert.......

You are acting like they went from one all seeing pope like GM who did everything to what they have now. When they are basically going have the same structure.
Not to mention people acting like they have seen an organizational flow chat of duties and responsibilities.

Maybe wait to see what the final front office structure is before getting heavy about it? Hunt's meant to have interviewed for three external roles this summer, seems a good chance he goes.

I'll certainly give Khan a chance. He's been around forever and is probably as deserving as anybody.

It is kind of interesting how much the Steelers under Mike Tomlin and Art Rooney II do this though. They scour through a bunch of candidates from all over the place and ultimately just circle back and hire a local or one of their own guys. We've seen this 3 times this off-season with the defensive coordinator job, the selection of Kenny Pickett and now the GM hire. Not saying any of the hires/selections are wrong. I hope they turn out great but only time will tell.

Also, I do like bringing in a guy like Andy Weidl to help Khan with the football side of things. That kind of eases my main worry about Khan a little bit.

Khan doesn't have the talent evaluation aspect to his skillset like Colbert did, and Colbert didn't have the cap skillset that Khan did. They are trying to backfill Colbert's job - just think of it as the AGM and GM switching spots. The structure hasn't changed.

NFL really makes it hard to be a fan of the sport. I saw a report that they were asking teams to give Kaepernick a spot this year................why? What possible reason would they do that. There's only one possible answer, it's actually pretty revolting.

Another internal hire…I’m shocked.

Rooney’s dumbass will continue to be involved in everything. Nothing will change; Tomlin isn’t going anywhere.

Omar is good with a calculator - yay.

Who did you want, Louis Riddick? The Steelers don’t have a player talent problem, so keeping around guys that built the roster isn’t a bad idea.

Tomlin is another story

Latest news on Kaepernick is that he’s again putting himself out there.

Only report I can find mentioning Goodell or the league is from 2020.

ESPN reported last night that the NFL was pushing teams to work him out......which is pathetic
Im not an American football fan by any means, but hasnt that guy been out of the league since 2016? Thats a long time to be away from a sport at a professional and competitive level.

Yes, which is my entire point. Why has the NFL singled out him as "special" and getting involved with having him make a roster.

It's political theater, no other purpose. The NFL among other large corporations, hate a large portion of their own customer base.

Oh its purely politically motivated, not to dive down that rabbit hole. Just seems to go against what most teams would be trying to do. Its one thing to bring him in for publicity if your team sucks. Its something else to do it if you want to be competitive. Is there still a lawsuit going on with him and the league? I guess that could explain the NFLs action.

It's the NFL resurrecting a divisive issue to what purpose? Makes me worried for what lies ahead this summer.

If he wanted to play he would have played in the areana league or xfl usfl or the fan controlled league. His gf cost him the back up role in Bmore. Spike lee is doing a documentary on Kap so of course he needs to be In the cycle. Nike needs him to be the Martyr

I recently bought myself a Greg Lloyd jersey. Had one when I was a kid.
Nice...... I had a couple as well. I played in a golf tournament with him about a decade ago, he had a bad limp due to infection he got......still was ripped and scary. He was very polite, loved to sit back and listen to all of the stories being told, but never jumped in share any of his own.

On the flip side of the coin, Tim McKyer was maybe the funniest and most sociable person that I have ever met in my life. The entire team busted his balls for giving up that TD to San Diego in the AFC Championship game.

MY best sports moment came on the last day, our group needed to win the last hole to send make it a draw for first. Charles Johnson, who had invited me to the weekend, was po'd as we approached the green. We missed so many easy birdie putts and now stared down a 70 footer to win the hole and secure the draw. I simply looked over at CJ while he was ranting away and calmly stated I would drain the putt. He gave me that look.........

Well I did drain the putt.... and CJ celebrated more than me. "He ran round screaming ......HE SAID HE WOULD MAKE THAT PUTT>>>>>>>>>>>" hilarious stuff, great memories.

Breston Buckner was also a blast......he confirmed so many theories that I had about that team, Cowher and the NFL.

My dad has a Greg Lloyd reversible jersey. Talk about boss status. It’s made out of that mesh material with all the holes in it.

I guess he’s run out of money from his social justice contracts. If he doesn’t make the team, he can be portrayed as a hero, and if he does, even better.

He has to somehow keep relevant in the media for his own gain.

Let's not even bring up Kaepernick being out of the league for years now. Let's talk about how he's going to be 35 in November. It's over.

In Madden 22, he always gets picked up by a team from free agency and starts. Winds up like top 5 in the MVP voting at the end of the year, haha.
