I don’t know what the appeal is of all these inaccurate QBs…it’s one thing thats really hard to develop if you don’t have it by the time you’re drafted, although it can improve some…first qualities to look for in a QB are football intelligence and accuracy, then secondly mobility…if you’re picking mobility first, then you will fail…Ive seen mock drafts that have the Steelers moving up to select Ridder when Willis and Pickett are off the board…don’t do it

Ridder isn’t really a running QB though. He is very athletic and has a better 40 time than most QBs but he’s a pocket passer first and foremost. From what I’ve read, his football intelligence and pre/post snap processing is one of his biggest strengths.

The accuracy is really concerning though.

I would not take this guy in the first round let alone move up to take him…

Scouting departments and coaching staff will be earning their money with their year’s QB class for sure. I’m tempted to say the late buzz on some of these guys is just the draft approaching and NFL teams unable to help themselves. Again, I keep coming back to the idea that if your scouts have a guy pegged, you take him and hope 1)they were right, that’s what you pay them for; and 2) that your coaches can coax out of him whatever attracted your scouts.

I think you really just have to hope your organization can be patient given scouting scores that aren’t just comparing guys within zither class but against some universal standard. And you have to be ok with not getting a guy you like because someone else linked him at a price you weren’t willing to pay.

I really wouldn’t put too much stock into mock drafts. The best way to get clicks and people talking about one is to have a bunch of trades and QBs going early. No one is really going to care about one that has a bunch of OL/Edge guys going early. Which is my guess at what’s actually going to happen.

You should have started and stopped with his accuracy. If they draft the the riddler prepare for a lost decade.

Holy f***… that’s awful awful news. I know he was just a backup and would have been number 3 or so…but I don’t even feel like discussing the draft or anything right now. This is terrible.

So incredibly unfortunate, honestly. I think Pittsburgh would have worked out to be the best place for him.

Should also be noted, Haskins was in South Florida with Steelers QBs, RBs, and WRs when he got hit.

My wife just txt me the news on Haskins.

So f***ed up.

Growing up in the inner city with friends/acquaintances getting popped all around me, I developed a great appreciation for life and my own mortality at a young age.

Learned back then you simply aren’t promised another day on this earth.

That doubled down when my moms was taken by cancer in 2012.

Just never know when your number is up and try to appreciate every day, even when life feels shitty.

I read an article earlier this morning that Haskins had taken up Trubisky’s offer to work out with him in Florida. I thought that was Haskins showing a a very promising sign of maturity.

Then 3 hours later I read this and this just f***ing sucks. 24 years old man. That’s just horrible.

Man that is so awful.

Also f*** Adam Schefter. That guy seems like such a scumbag.
His name is synonymous with dumpster diving journalism.

If an NFL journalist does something that is morally ambiguous, it’s now known as “pulling a Schefter”.
