Morehouse coming just in time for a new state of the art stadium that Rooney will need late within this decade.

It's hard to believe old Heinz (what's it called now?) Is almost 30 years old, felt like it was brand new yesterday.

Pittsburgh

Sorry for the P-G link. The idea is an IndyCar street race in front of Heinz Field and across two bridges. I think that would be bad ass. Nashville did it, so I think Pittsburgh should do it.

You don’t have to be fleet of foot to run the RPo Stafford is running it. Nathan peterman got drafted using the Canada system and he wasn’t fleet of foot. You have to be able to roll out use play action and attack the c and b gabs on occasion. Heck Tua might be the best RPo guy in the league he isn’t winning any races.
Ben RPo was always a count the box and hand jester to the wr or make a site adjustment. Jimmy g isn’t felt of foot he does fine in RPo

The thing Kenny does best is roll out and throw on the run and Mitch is good at play action. Both can pick up a 3-6 with there legs.
Hand jester?

Hopefully a 1 year pump and dump. Get him some nice stats this year and sell him in the offseason if some of the other WR's look half as good in-game as they have in camp.

The Burgh
Bummer. The nickname was apt not just because it sort of rhymed but because he supposedly could run at full speed on wet fields, or something like that.

IIRC he got the nickname from Myron Cope in a rainy preseason game vs. Washington in August, 1976. I can still hear Myron, "Del- Del- Del- more like the, the, the HYDRO-plane!!! YOY!!!"

HOLY SHIT Jack (Hydroplane)Deloplaine has died at 68 !! I grew up watching him

Damn that blows.

I used to play hockey with his sons, Ryan and Todd, years ago. Really nice guys.

Ryan really turned into a hell of a hockey player.. went from a skinny kid one summer into a big monster by the next.

This is something I've been musing about, the idea that if we end next season with 3 or 4 great WRs Diontae Johnson is obviously the person to dump. Yeah he's the most expensive and oldest, and the least physically gifted, but the way he just gets open so effortlessly feels really valuable and I dunno if the other guys have that, and I dunno how good they'd look without guys watching Johnson.

Me, I'm toying with the idea that maybe you move Claypool in that situation if he gets a good price. Guess it depends on how everyone looks, but if Johnson looks like the guy who just makes everyone's life easier, I see a big argument for keeping it around.

In the event that the team is playing important games at the end of the season, it would be nice if he didn't start dropping the ball again, too. I thought he had fully put it together until the end.

Let’s assume Pickett sits.

I think DJ is probably worth more to just have, in order to properly surround Pickett- rather than what he returns via trade.

Unless you could get a first or a good OL. Doubt that though.

Well there is that.

But if DJ looks like a guy who'll really help a young QB, and take some heat off of other guys, I can forgive the drops. I don't think the drops are going to matter for a few years either way, but developing Pickett or whoever right?

But we'll see what happens. I'm certainly not dead-set against trading him next summer.

DJ being a consistently open target will help lesser QBs for sure. The corpse of Ben got him the ball over 100 times.

It's gonna be apparent soon whether the WR makes the QB or vice versa.
I'm going to predict that the WR numbers across the entire team drops without Ben throwing.

I don't think they will ever do a full demo and rebuild of Heinz Field. I think they will just do continuous improvement. I worked there for a marketing company about 10 years ago, and they were constantly doing improvements and upgrades. They also lobbied really hard for the T to come right to the front gates, and there is no where in the North Shore to begin building a new stadium while still playing at Heinz. Everything in the North Shore was built around Heinz and PNC Park. Both stadium strike me as ones we will have for a few generations.

I really like this move.

Didn't expect them to get a deal done like this. The WR group should be dynamic. Hopefully we have a QB to get them the ball.

Unless Khan is wildly different than Colbert, hoping for them to dump Johnson is a pipe dream. As much sense as it makes if Pickens and Austin pan out, they won't do that to Johnson.

Sounds like Bush is having a really bad camp.

Awesome.

I read he was showing signs t hat his confidence was back and he was doing well 🤷‍♂️

All the msm guys and the camp bloggers I trust and have followed for years are all pretty much in agreement Bush looks bad.

Here is what Dulac wrote in his 8/3 chat:

kevin in Punxsy: Good morning, Gerry! Do you think that the Steelers will move D Bush to a non-starter status for the upcoming season? I read what Ray wrote about DB and it wasn't pretty.

Gerry Dulac: There's a lot of politics in the NFL when it comes to No. 1 draft choices, meaning teams sometimes don't want to acknowledge their mistakes. Let's put it this way, you notice Bush on the practice field for the wrong reasons. I understand he is being micro-managed by everyone to see how he will bounce back after last season. But, well....um....
