You like to have a solid OL in place for a young QB. Filling the LT position at the least a year or two before that QB shows up would be ideal

With all the cap space they will be swimming in next year, pretty sure they can find an OL or two in FA.

Got the position right.

Got the player wrong.

Maybe this is why @Mr Jiggyfly didn't want them to take OL. He knew the brain trust would **** it up.

They missed all the centers so had to reach. Simple as that. Would have rather they simply took the more talented guard or tackle who were available.

Well at least it’s a center. Not gonna pretend like I watched Illinois at all last year so I’ll withhold any judgement until I actually see him play.

Not gonna act like I know much about him. From quick reading it looks like he’s a pretty nasty run blocker who needs to learn some more.

Yeah, not the end of the world, just not the name I thought they would go with at this point.

Sounds decent.....who knows

NFL Draft Bible says: Green is an explosive athlete out of his stance who is fast in a straight line and can climb to the second level easily. His lateral agility is also great, making him a tremendous puller. He uses his momentum to convert into power when blocking opponents on the move. As a combo blocker, Green is strong enough to knock nose tackles off balance and reach and seal linebackers. In pass sets, he gains depth easily and mirrors rushers with his active feet. Green does not have the strongest anchor as he can be bull-rushed by strong defenders. Green projects as a potential starter at either interior offensive line spot in a zone running scheme that utilizes his athleticism by getting him on the move.

He's a perfect zone blocker and Meinerz is not. Maybe that is the direction they want to go now that they are revamping the line?

idk. i don't think they are blowing it. best RB in the class. second best TE. a C who is considered athletic and very well rated in run-blocking. sure, i don't trust the coaching, but i think its shaping up as a more than decent draft.
