You don't generally find franchise LTs in FA unless you're willing to spend beacoup dollars on one of the extremely few worthwhile veterans that hit the market.

You don’t find a franchise LT unless you are drafting in the top five either.

Steelers haven’t had a franchise LT in my lifetime, and they have managed ok without one.

They’ve had success finding franchise LT in the second round with Colbert as GM

They are but pretty much any team would be. So far I'd give them a solid B. I would have gone OT with at worst a 2hd rounder and maybe late first if we traded back to 30 or so.

I'd go with a B also. I like the Freiermuth pick though. It also lets us move on from Ebron after next season which will save us a bunch of money.

I actually think the Steelers did pretty good so far, despite being reamed by critics...they took players who could be solid contributors the next few years, and it’s clear they’re planning to play Green at center...let’s hope their projection of him as the best potential center available to them in round three is correct...seems like Klemm is planning to run more zone style blocking schemes

I guess he’s talking about Marvel Smith but that was in the 90s
He played 2000-2008. And made a pro bowl.
Villanueva made 2 pro bowls.

Sure we've never had an LT on the level of Pouncey, but we've had 2 solid ones in last 20 years.

Green looks like a solid pick as far as what we might be getting in him. Various publications suggest he was likely a 4th rounder but obviously it's not an exact science. He's versatile, durable and is equally proficient in run and pass blocking. I definitely think he'll help the team. I just wonder maybe if we could have waited a round to nab him.

Well like I said at the time the 2019 draft after the Bush pick was the beginning of the downfall. They just threw their hands up and declared draft victory after trading up for Bush.

DJ - Should have traded up the few spots for Metcalf. They then waste their 1st pick in 2020 to draft a Metcalf clone.

Justin Layne - Bust like predicted.

Benny Snell - Pointless now with Harris.

Gentry - Bust so drafted Pat.

Sutton Smith - Bust.

Then I kept saying before 2020 draft we need to get a center. Pouncey was one of the worst rated centers going into last year. Everybody could see it but the Steelers. Tyler Biadasz was the best pulling center in a decade. Who did we draft instead of him? Wait for wait for it.... Anthony McFarland. Pointless now with Harris.

So this year I didn't even bother. What's the point? Already proven I have more foresight than Colbert and the Steelers organization. As far as the picks so far...

Harris - Alabama RB, no o-line, and a pick everybody saw coming. Seems too good to be true. I guess it makes sense because it's a huge hole and there's none in FA. Get a 5th year option.

Pat - Everybody was complaining about o-line. But we were also missing a run blocking TE. Ebron can't block so I like it.

Kendrick Green - He played like 5 games at center. A project? Tyler played 2 years at Wisconsin. That's a real center. This video gave me a little hope. What we need on our o-line if he can make it. I watch his highlight videos on Youtube and mostly hyping himself up clapping and shit. So he's a pro at that.

Then none of this really matters does it?
Well this year is giving Ben is Kobe Bryant Elie Manning send off. A thank you for everything you have done for the organization. They started a transition they will not go full rebuild. We will have 4 new o line men at new spots, a new CB2 and nickel back a new Olb new milb. New RB. Next year if they don’t trade for Watson Carr Wilson or Rodgers could draft a QB to compete with Mason. Mastics the bridge QB and in a leafy where jimmy G Goff have been in the super bowl recently they trust Mason. If Haskins shows he is committed to football and gets through the season he will also get an extension and chance to compete. Next years QB class doesn’t have a marquee player but theirs some talent. You figure with Ben your picking around 20 might not want to trade up for a QB.

Mike ADams was the last OT drafted round 2.chuks was round 3. Villanueva was undrafted Foster was undrafted they hadn’t needed to invest in the o line in a long time. Banner was another teams 4th

Steelers take a tackle, Dan Moore...anyone know anything about him?

From The Athletic guide

STRENGTHS: Plays with a massive wingspan and adequate length…rapid punch to reach and keep rushers at bay when his timing is right…flexible lower body in his
pass-sets…smooth hips/movements on stretch plays or when working up a level…worked hard to reshape his body, dropping weight since high school…displays
strength and body control as a run blocker when he gets his momentum rolling downhill…his coaches said they were “extremely” impressed with his development
over the last calendar year, staying controlled with his technique…avoided major injury and started all 36 games the last three seasons.

They had a 5th-6th round grade on him.

so they overdrafted him because of desperation....sounds just like the Steelers...
