Does anyone ripping Swayman actually watch the games? Serious question? It took about 2 minutes to see the Bruins were absolutely overmatched by the Stars last night. It was men vs boys. What goal can you blame on Swayman? He can't do it himself. I am all for ripping players who aren't producing but the team in front of him absolutely sucks right now.

So, has Swayman playing for 'Team Goalie Community' instead of 'Team Bruins' come back to backfire?

Bruins Players: 'Oh. you're elite?'
Swayman: 'Yeah. Held out to get paid like it too.'
Bruins Players: 'Let's see you play like those elite goalies without our system.'
Swayman: 'Sure.'

Today: Swayman 3.35 GAA, .888 Sv% (Before the touchdown put up by Dallas)

Someone tell me why this team is no longer playing a system in front of him.
Bold comment says it all, but should have put his contract in bold.

Well, if Sweeney did not hand him that contract, just maybe there would have something left for some offensive players, then maybe he would have better players in front of him........I said this last summer, they were paying to much for him, and it hinders the rest of the roster.........I might when I said that contracts was bad last summer, I never said he was not a good goaltender, but that he is just part of what makes up a "TEAM".

When you think you’re better than what you are and have to put your big boy pants on , you better be ready to take that next step. So far Swayman has been mediocre at best.

Oettinger has the same exact contract and you saw the talent that Dallas has in front of him.....

Have you been happy with his overall play this year? It's not just one game, Korpi is literally the better goalie right now which is insane

Lot of great goalies out there with bad teams in front. Sorokin comes to mind.

You want that Islanders team, or ours?

Sway wanted to be in the Sorokin tier. Well here it is young man.

Tough stretch for Sway. There are serious repercussions missing training camp. I hope he rebounds, but given his track record of ~130 NHL games only, there is a bit of concern.

I'm a big Sway guy but there is no sugarcoating it, he just doesn't look good this year. Clearly part of it is missing TC and preseason, but he's getting cleanly on too many unscreened shots this year.

Team in front of him is obviously a mess, but Korpisalo being called one of the worst goalies in the league all offseason and yet playing better than him is concerning to me

Anyone with half a hockey brain feared this kid was not due the money he demanded.

I hope for our sakes it's the system that's letting him down but looking at the goals he's letting up? No system is going to fix garbage goaltending and that what he is right now, garbage.

Like the rest of the roster.

Lets start by trading McAvoy and Freddy since these two are the reasons we suck lolololol, If I was either of these two I would welcome a trade to get away from this train wreck.

He "thinks" he's on that tier and the Bruins got suckered in.

Cam wanted him to go F himself and he was right it looks like. He must want to kick little Donny ass for this.

Yet they're not really different in terms of save percentage, so that says your statement is not exactly accurate. I mean .888 vs .900 is nearly a statistical dead heat, no? And that doesn't factor into strenght of opponent either.

In reality, this team is a disaster defensively. They're f***ing inept in their own end.

I really hope they do. Not because the outcome will be any different, but because maybe at this point some of you will finally see and acknowledge how poorly this roster is constructed. It's a f***ing clown show.

Also Sway averaging more than 3 against Korpi under 3.

But I'll agree the difference on paper is minimal, eye test wise i just think Sway is just getting beat too easily.

Id give Korpi a few goes at some tougher opponents at this point though.

GAA is a team stat, in reality. SV% is the individual stat for a goalie.

But I'm fine with giving Korpi a few more games against better competition. Nothing bad can come from that at all. Maybe it lights a fire under Sway or exposes the fans to the reality of a subpar d.

He was never going to be the veznia-caliber goaltender we knew from last year at the start of this season when he missed the entire offseason and training camp. It's a failure on both Swayman and Sweeney for not getting a deal done sooner, and it may cost the team the playoffs by the time Swayman gets up to speed.

The defense has aslo gone from what, top 5 in the league last season to beer leaguers with the addition of 1 new defenseman. That's not giving any goaltender a chance especially if they play like a team that is waiting for their goaltender to bail them out. The issue is, the Bruins don't have two vezina goaltenders playing on any given night that can bail them out, which Ullmark and Swayman did last season. Ullmark and Swayman won them a lot of games last year, and that was with a defense that decided to play competently.

The longer Sweeney remains employed the longer our inevitable rebuild will take. This team is an absolute tire fire of mix matched pieces.

Yeah not exactly rocket science. Swayman needs to be better. Korpi has played well va the scrubs of the league and his stats still are pedestrian. Team is bad, from the goalie out right now but to judge the Swayman deal on 20 games or whatever is silly

without looking I'm sure he has the worst numbers of any starter in the NHL right now and likely worse than any back up. He's been awful

Last game really skewed the numbers further but Swayman has a .888 save percentage and Korpi .900. That's not really close. Swayman has been bad but he has a poorly built team in front of him.
