I wish the Steelers would trade up to get a f***ing lineman. This is nerve wracking.

Why? If the OL is so bad that it can't pass block, doesn't that mean they have to call more runs? Then Artie can be happy. :sarcasm:

Mayfield at this juncture would be exceptional value IMO. Just depends what we'd have to offer in moving up. But that would really help our cause.

They got Dotson in the 4th last year.....relax

I’m more worried about olb and Ilb depth
Well that's when we had or thought we had a solid one two with Pouncey and Decastro to anchor our OL. Certainly not the case anymore. Dotson was great value though, no question.

Gone. Don't worry. The Steelers got Dotson in the 4th last year.

I'd read somewhere the Steelers brain trust-- an oxymoron if I've ever heard one-- thinks the issues with their line were about coaching, not talent. Apparently there's maybe something to that . . .:biglaugh:

Just jumped on and started reading a few posts...

Have to admit I’m cracking up about people being all nervous about getting OL.

If they don’t get anyone and their line blows this season, uh... why does that matter again?

Can someone clue me in if it will ruin their SB hopes or something..?

I don't care about their SB hopes. They're not doing shit. But, a center for the next 10 years did interest me.

Not sure why that qualifies as being about this year rather than about the future to you . . . I'll chalk it up as a Cody Ceci like hot take.

Im with you. Outside of top picks, lineman rarely play in their first year anyways.

We do need a center though. There are a few FAs available as a stop gap if we don’t get one.

They allow you to draft new players every April - no joke.

You like to have a solid OL in place for a young QB. Filling the LT position at the least a year or two before that QB shows up would be ideal

I liked a couple from this year's crop if that's okay with you. ;)

(I think you know that I know exactly what this team is . . . I thought it was a nicer C crop where guys of this caliber fell a little further than they usually might and I genuinely see the C as the guy who anchors the OL)

A center too IMHO. As I said above, I thought there were a few nice options.

EDIT: Still think they really like Meinerz, but we'll see . . .

If they don’t get a center, sign Vinny Bagahdonuts off the street.

Worst case he gets Roth put on IR and their chances of finding their next franchise guy next April goes up substantially.

Pretty sure there will be centers eligible for next years draft... I think..

I was going to LOL if we somehow ended up with Dickerson as our C. I wouldn’t have used our 2nd rounder on him. Our 3rd for sure. I thought he would’ve dropped a lot more than he did with teams scared of his injury history.

He would’ve fit in here perfectly. Highly talented player but injured more than Pouncey was

Big risk reward center but man he’s always injured.
