The thing about Atlanta and Rudolph is it feels like an impatient, owner interventionist team and a place that's had bad QB talent for a couple of years now. My guess - just a guess - is that there is a mandate, either formal or informal, to get a quality QB in there ASAP.
I dunno how they'd go about that upgrade but walking in and telling ownership and upper management that their starter next year will be Mason Rudolph would take a lot of guts. The only way I can see that happening is if they do something like trade down and pick up McCarthy in the 1st, or maybe use their early 2nd, and need a bridge starter.
So I absolutely see the connection with Robinson. And I can see a scenario in which it happens. I just think its not super likely. I think Robinson is too far down the totem pole and there's too much riding on this. It's like deciding that for your anniversary dinner, you're going to hit up some food truck that your friend swears is actually the best in town rather than picking a fancy restaurant. It's going to have to be amazing to make that a smart choice, and it's probably not.
My guess is they'd be right at the front of the line for Fields if the Bears move on.
