Chiefs are to Bills as Pats were to Steelers.
It seems worse for the Bills. The losses to the Patriots weren't as soul crushing (at least for me.) I pretty much accepted that Steelers, more specifically Tomlin, would get out coached badly by Bill and that happened just about every time. Outside of the James catch/no catch, it never felt close.

I can’t root for Balt, I can’t root for KC and I can’t root for the 49ers…i only have a 25% chance of being happy with the SB outcome lol
I definitely want the Lions more than any other team left but at this point, I want anyone but the Chiefs. I don't really care about the 49ers now that the Patriots tied the Steelers in Super Bowl wins and Baltimore it would honestly be funny to have them be more successful than the Steelers over the last 20 years.

Bills/Chiefs remind me of when the Caps couldn't beat the Pens in the playoffs.

I was just a kid back then, just have faint memories but was a NFL history buff so I read up on that era a bunch of times.

Waltons offense was a disaster though.

He and Sherman were probably the worst OCs in my lifetime until Canada came around.

Edit: Yep you nailed it::

There was a big sign in the stands at Three Rivers that said: Hey J_E. Where's the O?

Williams is a BUST waiting to Happen

I'm not totally sold on Williams either, but Maye and Daniels are both awesome QBs. Chicago is coming away with a player regardless of who they take. I can see why an OC would find that a good situation.

There are 3 RT's that are first round talents - Latham, Fuaga, and Mims. There are two C's in Frazier and Powers-Johnson. If we come away with any combo of RT and C, this draft will be a massive success regardless of the other picks.

I really dislike how Williams carries himself, and he’s got warts… but man the talent jumps off the screen in a different way than Maye or Daniels. And both Maye and Daniels are very talented.

I made it a point to watch him and he's a watered down Mahomes. He has talent, for sure, but what makes Mahomes great is not what will make Williams great. The further Mahomes gets in his career the more I think what he has is truly special. I'm almost rooting for him because I think he truly is a threat to be the best QB ever.

Mahomes definitely has that legendary feel to him that I don't sense from any other QB right now. Like no matter what playoff seed his team is, no matter how ho-hum the regular season was, he's probably going to win anyway. It's as much his mindset as it is physical ability. Besides the incessant whining about officiating, he’s a pretty likable and marketable guy too.

I just can't get over his playoff success. He's played 16 playoff games and won 13 of them, with a QBR over 100.

With Williams he's got the ability but does he have the mindset and intangibles?

I feel like as much as anything right now, what separates Mahomes from the mortals is how incredibly difficult it is for a pass rush to put him in trouble. You can't blitz him, he'll find where that open guy is too quickly. His sixth sense for pressure is absurd. He's constantly top 5 for pressure to sack ratio despite extending his plays as long as anyone. Basically, how do you stop a QB who constantly gets nearly 3 seconds to throw?

Agree, and he’s really smart when he has pressure… he had the wherewithal last night when chased down quickly to get to the sideline and toss the ball out of bounds, saving a yardage loss

I politely ask that you refrain from talking about the Steelers picking Powers-Johnson, because I want the Chargers to take him instead. Thank you 😊

Yeah, he pretty much never makes it worse than it is.

Which, to go back to the original point, is a question about Caleb Williams. And I've no idea what the answer is tbh, not dug on him. But being able to throw and extend plays like Mahomes only takes a guy so far if he can't work out when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em like Mahomes.

I did see that Chicago have hired Waldron as OC, which a) is mildly annoying as I wouldn't have minded him as a Steeler and b) maybe asks some questions about which Chicago are going to do. They interviewed Kingsbury as well, and his hire would have felt like a definite commitment to Williams. Waldron might have other ideas.

We didn't know Mahomes was Mahomes until his 2nd-3rd year.

And if the standard is Mahomes, sure anyone will look bad. Mahomes is the best QB in history.

But that's kind of the point, no?

If Mahomes is an alien, we've got to question how much success someone playing his style is going to have without his alien qualities.

The LJ vs Mahomes matchup will be fascinating for football junkies.

I hate the Ravens but respect what Harbaugh has done without getting gifted a HOF QB like Tomlin.

Both Ds will have their hands full, but can’t remember how many times the Chiefs have played LJ.

You respect a guy who has 2 playoffs wins with a 2 time league mvp under center

I respect the guy that completely changed his offense to develop that two time MVP.

Now they are in the AFC championship game.

Remind me the last time Tomlin sniffed a playoff win?

Harbaugh even won his SB with Joe Flacco, who he also developed.

You have to be a complete buster to think Tomlin is in Harbaugh's class for developing Qbs.

Let me know when Tomlin wins a f***ing playoff game, let alone gets to another championship game with a Qb he developed.

You can take him at #5. :naughty:

I have seen several mocks that have him going in the early 20's (Brugler, Brooks) mostly to Miami at pick 21, right after the Steelers. If he actually that good, the Steelers should take him at 20.

But the draft analysis says there are three Centers (J-PJ, Van Pran, Frazier) and they are all grouped together around the mid 2nd round. Feels like the Steelers should be able to wait til their pick in the 2nd round. I also wouldn't have a problem with using one of the 4th round picks to move up in the 2nd to grab one. Though that would only move them up 5-6 picks, it would get them ahead of PHI, CIN, JAX who need help at OL.

Especially Philly now that Kelce has retired. I could see them going with J-PJ in the late first. There really isn’t much there in FA.
