Kp has no chemistry whatsoever with anyone that is why they want Mason back. I want a qb that can throw 2 in a game and maybe eclipse 300 yards.
What chemistry does he have with GP they barely connect on the back shoulder throws or does KP hit him in stride like mason did against Cincinnati. Mason made throws that Kp can’t make to both wrs. The post to ca3 that KP still struggles with is a breeze with Mason

How long until MR turns back into a pumpkin and DJ turns on him?

If KP had the same kind of bad game agt the Bills that MR did, you would still be throwing another one of your famous hissy fits over it.

I’m one of the rare few who never turned on MR, despite what happened up in Detroit, but he’s not a long term answer.

That was made quite clear agt the Bills.

Your boy Tomlin pretty clearly wants KP to start, so again why would they keep around a diva KP has no chemistry with?

If you don’t like that whole idea, take it up with Tomlin.

Of they want KP to start they invested a 1st round pick on him. Most 1st qbs get 3 years. The lions game he put them in a place to win and was let down by his teammates. I don’t know what you expected from Mason against Buffalo but being a 1 score game in the 4th despite the turnovers ny his skill position players. Nobody says he is the long term answer the hope is he is Nod or Maddox

Just trying to limit the excuses for kp. If you would rather have kp try n win with Gp boyd Ca3 unknown draft pick go for it

Yea it's tiring when people bring out excuse after excuse for a certain person huh?

I think a team will pay for DJ. If his stats are what many have said they were in terms of getting open and route running, some team is going to see the value in trading for him v. drafting an unknown.

To me, KC would be silly not to trade for him.

KC won't have any money to pay DJ at his current or expected salary

I'm not even going to touch the Lions game shit, either you know how badly he played that day or you live in a delusion, so cool.

With the Bills game, you just completely ignore he threw a game changing pick in the end zone?

It would have been 14-7, suddenly it was 21-0.

MR did absolutely nothing in the first half except lead a short TD drive when they blocked the FG right before the half.

In the second half he did a little better, but the reality is he only had one TD drive.

At the end of the day he put up a whopping 17 points.

Let's not pretend he was going toe to toe with Allen and they lost on a last second FG.

MR only completed 56% of his passes, drove the offense for only two TDs and threw a killer pick. If that was KP you 100% would be still whining how badly he played.

Fact of the matter is that if they had intentions of bringing MR back wouldn't this contract have been done by now?

Either the team (Tomlin) doesn't want him back OR
MR doesn't want to be back

Guess it could also be both...

I’m guessing he just wants to see what offers he gets in free agency. I can’t see him getting a good offer though and if I’m the Steelers I’m certainly not waiting around for him to make a decision.

They want him to test Fa so he doesn’t feel like he is underpaid. He is worth more to the Steelers than to most other teams in FA.

Fully agree there.

So I expect the backup QB to be Tannehill (A Smith connection) or Tyrod Taylor (Virginia connection)

My preference is Mason then Wilson but since they are not interested in any competition for Kp. It will be Stick Dobbs Tanahill Franks or Locke

I'm not sure that I agree that Rudolph is "worth more to us than other teams". Like, he should be given our depth at the position and how he played relative to our other QB's. But our actions say otherwise.

Basically gave Mitch his backup QB money while Rudolph was forced to sign for a league min. Only got an opportunity to play as a last resort. Tomlin even admitted to misjudging MR's ability in his post season presser.

I believe Khan when he says he wants to bring him back, I just think some team offers him a marginally better contract and he walks.

Is this the greatest FA Safety class in NFL history lol?

Legit like 15+ quality options available this year.

I think this is the best draft we have seen in a really long time - probably 2004. Looks generational to me. Teams with extra picks in the top 100 are going to get their money's worth.

Theoretically Wilson could be an all time signing if there's really juice left in him and all of Carroll, Hackett, and Payton were wrong about him and what he can do.

This seems unlikely.

If the aim was simply to win as many games as possible next season, I'd be all about this. But since the number of games we win with him doesn't feel like a super bowl, I'm not in.

Eh, any competition is fine by me. Again if KP can’t beat someone out, that’s on him.

I'd be shocked if Wilson was going anywhere where that'd be competition. In his head he's a HoF bound QB1.

Wilson has stated he will sign for Vet minimum because Denver is on the hook for like 38mil this season and he wants to help the team he goes to be the best they can be.
Is that confirmed? I know that anything his new team pays him offsets some of the 30m he's still owed by the Broncos. Cash not cap.

I'm just kind of dubious of him signing for a vet min. Putting ego aisde, signing for that low makes him very replaceable.

I would think something like $10-15m per.

This is where I’m at with Wilson. He doesn’t change the bottom line for the team and make them a Super Bowl or even playoff win contender. And tbh I don’t know if he even improves the regular season outlook by much.

So even at vet minimum is he really worth the circus that he brought with him in Denver and towards the end of his time in Seattle?

He was clearly worse than Geno Smith even 3 years ago and has only been declining further. Plus he's a bad teammate.

I mean, I'd rather have Wilson over Rudolph but I wouldn't say that Wilson is particularly appealing.

There are pretty much no good options this year for the other QB, so I'm not going to get angry at signing Wilson for cheap.

My guess is that this is why the Steelers want to meet with him. If he brings his entourage with him and makes it seem like he is still a bigshot, then they pass.

If he wants to come in and work and leave all that stuff at the door, then they may be interested.
