I'm in DC for work right now, and the thought of Snyder getting booted from the league has this fan base completely delirious. They are Pirate fans of the NFL.

If there was a franchise LT there, you grab him all day.

They are harder to find than franchise QBs.

In fact, Steelers have never had one in my lifetime.

Unfortunately there doesn’t look to be a franchise guy this year, which would have been huge for this org.

The problem is we'll still have Tomlin... he's not a development coach.

The other problem is the GM/Tomlin... none of the FA acquisitions played well so are we in really good shape to find the most talented players.

The Houston Texans have have already put up more points against Philly then what the Steelers did
Yeah we had points left on the field watching the 22. Mills is further along his development than KP

Olu Fashanu is interesting for the fact that he may be only starting to scratch the surface of his talent. He's really, really young. He's still only 19 years old (he'll turn 20 in December) even though he's three years into his college career.

Texans seem to be making a commitment to Mills the same way the Steelers should stay the course with Pickett. If the Steelers go WR with their first pick, Tomlin gotta go.

Yeah I agree in fact I would argue they could skip Wr all together in the draft. I am ok with boykin and simms as Wr 4 and 5.

I think Tomlin has shown more than enough reasons why he has to go regardless of who they draft.

Feel free to choose from our defense has been horrendous when he calls plays, he is incapable of finding competent assistant coaches, our recent draft record is embarrassing, he doesn’t know how to manage the clock, can’t grasp when to challenge plays.

Do I need to go on?

Here's the thing, I don't even necessarily want them to fire Tomlin. I just want them to change how much control he has over the team. If Tomlin hires a defensive coordinator, he's going to coordinate, along with not letting Tomlin continue putting in place these lame duck coaches that are the fall guys when Tomlin's play calling is shit.. They need real coaches and real coordinators.

Tomlin has type-A'd this team into the pits, and it's showing that AB and Bell kind of were right. Tomlin knew Ben was keeping him afloat. He let Ben do whatever Ben had to so the cloak didn't fall off.

Why would you not want Tomlin gone???

We wasted the last decade with this fraud.

So it's ok if it works is what you're saying?

When Tocchet was here as part of Mario's good old boy network and we won 2 Cups, was there much of an outcry?

Consider this scenario: you work for a company that has been pretty successful.
Your bonus is dependent on the profitability of the company and for 3 years you get $50k in bonuses.

Soon thereafter, the Prez hires his brother or son.
Then all of a sudden you start getting $5k or zero because the company is performing poorly.

Are you saying you won't increase your scrutiny and wonder if that relationship didn't have a negative impact on you/the company?

Tomlin Purgatory is real and he’s untouchable, so why waste time thinking he’d ever be fired?

Just have to hope for more realistic things, like he has his hand forced to stop hiring his cronies, and he has to cede personnel decisions to Weidl.

This is the worst playoff drought the team has has since before many of us were born, and it’s going to extend for another year now.

I think it’s fair to question mostly everything they are doing, from coaching hires, to player development, drafting, ownership mistakes, nepotism, cronies r us, whatever should be fair game IMHO.

Steelers did want WJ3 during his draft year though, so I’m not sure which dots to connect in this instance.

It all points back to Tomlin though, he’s the ringmaster of this circus.

Stroud looks unbelievable at times but there’s just something about him that makes me feel like he’s not a can’t miss guy. Could see his career going in any direction.

Richardson is stupid talented, it’s funny because the best thing for him as a QB is playing out college- but tough to justify that though with risk of injury, earnings, etc. when he’s pretty much a guaranteed top 60 pick.
Did you watch the end of the PSU-OSU game? Stroud was snapping the ball with like 15 seconds left on the play clock with a running game clock with only 3min left up by 4 points. On the same drive, they ended up inside the 5 and took a delay of game penalty. They ended up scoring anyway and particularly the delay of game could be on coaching, but I don't know. It seems like a severe lack of awareness. Coachable, sure, but it seems like something that someone playing at the highest level of collegiate sports should have been taught already.

This will be his first losing season, fans are dunking on him, and the media. We are in unchartered territory here.

Weren’t some of that owners annoyed with Rooney recently over Tomlin? I can’t imagine those feelings have improved after this circus year.

Though, I give it a 5% chance Tomlin is fired after this season. But at least there is a tiny chance. This is the first time fan boys and the national media have turned on him.

Let's be real...

"This was Tomlin's first losing season, which was due in large part to an early season injury to superstar DPOY TJ Watt, and the struggles of rookie QB Kenny Pickett. Mike Tomlin is, if anything, a master motivator who will right this ship sooner than later"

It would take a minimum of 2-3 more seasons like this before his seat even got warm. Then another season on the hot seat.

He's no going anywhere anytime soon, unless he walks away.

Only a fool would walk away from the best job imaginable - ridiculous pay, zero accountability, and your results don't really matter because of some perceived faux greatness bestowed upon you... because you did something a dozen years ago.

When things go wrong, just act indignant and spew out cliches like "put a cap on it" and "we don't run away from that".

Would you walk from the perfect gig like that?

Lol at the Pittsburgh media guys who thought they would fire Canada after the Eagles game to have the bye week to work with a new coordinator.

I don’t think Steeler fans quite understand the situation here.

I’ve explained this before, but Canada was hired as a favor by Tomlin, because Canada gave Tomlin’s son Dino, a scholarship when he was coaching at Maryland.

This is how a guy with no NFL experience becomes their OC within two years.

I didn’t think Tomlin would have the balls to take his cronyism this far with Canada, but this is the shit he’s allowed to get away with because AR2 allows it.

It really is astounding when you step back and look at it all.
