He's always been a top rw sniper but this new defensive ethic has really taken his game to new heights
Absolutely - he is much more engaged in all zones which helps his transition game a ton.
The "one and done" stuff we've seen previously is not nearly the same problem it was - he's stripping pucks, turning things up ice and that has helped him be a much better offense and zone driver than he as ever been.
I hope he sticks to this game style - no reason he can't.

Lady Bing guy can score. I've been watching Connor since he was in college ball. He is what Laine could have been. He's got the foot speed you need to have.

It shouldn't bother me that PGTs are quieter after wins than losses, but here we are

We scored 5v5
Top line won their matchup
Special teams were OK
Pionk played well

I guess there's just not much to bitch about, so people who don't know how to do anything else steer clear

It is what it is

WTF do you want?

There is no back and forth after a game like that because no one has anything negative to say. So we come here and make positive comments and then we are done. Argue with the positive comments and there will be a lot more noise here.

I remember one time I read a post on here I didn't like. It was a dark day. Ultimately I was able to move on with my life.

And for those who bash the Connor Schiefele duo. Playing all the time with the teams #1 center will be front and center in any contract negotiations with Connor. IMO at least he is the guy we can't lose because how much of a premium is placed on actually putting the puck in the net.

The Scheif/Connor duo has changed the script this year. Both are playing a better 2 way game and not losing any offence. In fact their offence is also as good, or better than, it has ever been.

The problem was never their offence. It was the amount they gave up. Well they aren't giving up a lot this year.

What do i want?

It would be great for the guys who shit on players when they play poorly to come into a PGT to praise players after they play well

85% of PGTs after losses is posters saying "See? I'm smarter than the coach. If he did things my way, this wouldn't have happened"

But they somehow skip PGTs where the results make their opinion look wrong (or in the case of the "we need a top line to win it's matchups in order to win consistently" crowd, outright ridiculous) as the wins pile up

I honestly think that there are posters on here who hope we lose games while Schief and Connor play together just so that they can look "right". They're the ones who are absent in here after we win

And 85% of your posts are needlessly calling out other posters you have a grudge against. This is a sports fan forum. People are going to pretend to be coaches. If all anyone does is cheerlead then this is the sort of threads you get... short.

It was such a Jet's master class that even the refs giving the Wings a chance with piss poor game management could not stop KC and the band! I do think Lyon was not great but the Jets making hay against non playoff teams is positive. I still need to see them vs Dal, Vegas and Col(when healthy) to know if this is real. The leafs game is a mulligan given the scheduling of it. Hard to complain about 9-1 but there are tweaks to be made. Columbus will be a real good test given how they are playing. Perhaps, then you will get some back and forth!

I don't have any grudges

I'm not sure why those posters aren't intellectually honest enough to simply say "maybe I'm wrong about this whole first line needs to win it's match up for us to be successful opinion"

How much more proof do they need? Instead, they ignore that proof and just wait to for a rare loss to come in to the PGTs and beat their drums

Lastly... why do people like you think that the only reason to post on a fan forum is to bitch and complain? I think that mindset says a lot about the type of people those posters are

It is what it is

I think when we lose there is a type of poster that needs to vent and that is volume based therapy. Often they need 5 or 6 posts to get it off their chest, then of course try to decide who needs to be traded, then how to change the lines. Hard to get all that done in one post. Also some posters only use the sight to complain after losses. Last season I asked a poster why he only showed up after losses and he said in a very honest fashion well when we win I’m happy so there is nothing to talk about (paraphrasing). Same thing as Horror movie’s, why people pay good money to be scared/shocked is beyond my comprehension but it is a very real desire.

When we win it does attract a few posters who love to wallow in joy but not as many as those who need to vent when they are mad. Also there are always things to correct and injustices even after wins but the old jalopy needs less fixing (when was the last time I used that word, or more importantly when did I turn into my grampa).

Either way I hope to catch some of the game today or tonight but I have to decorate for Halloween and get the daughter out. She’s in grade 7 so we are almost done. Where did that time go.

Have we won a Stanley Cup yet? 2-16 in our last 18 playoff games. Yeah, we've had some nice regular seasons but this idea that anything has been proven about what our top line is doing is sorta ridiculous - and the season is still young right? Who knows how things will look in 2 months? Wins are good, but if we're winning despite our top line maybe that isn't so good - or at least maybe it's worth talking about. (personally, I've sort of lost the investment over the past few years to argue about stuff myself, but I still find the debates interesting to read.)

I'd say you have some grudges. You definitely like to point and yell "NERRRRRRDS!" a lot.

At least you're moving the goalposts now to Stanley Cups instead of winning games. But how many teams who DO have top lines that always win their matchups have NOT won the cup?

We finished 4th overall last season and are 1st overall at 9-1 with the team deploying the top line as it has. That's a big sample size. At what point is it enough to prove that someone might be wrong about their opinion? LOTS (or in the case of this season, ALL) of teams who deploy their lines the way these guys would like are looking up at us in the standings

I have nothing against nerds or analytics. I do have an opinion of people that have never laced up a pair of skates in their lives thinking that they know more than people who have been in and around the sport their entire lives just because they look at spreadsheets
