I've been building for over 20 years, never done a custom loop, just AIO's, back in the early 2000s in the LAN Party days I would do the windows and the lights, now with my recent builds its been about getting them as quiet as possible. My homebuilt server has a CPU AIO and 14 mechanical HDDS and that is still whisper quiet with the Fractal cases I've used.

I learned a great deal going through the process. It was challenging, mainly the loop design.
Cool! I’ve built three for myself (the first with help from another member of this very board) but not in about 12 years. I wanted to during my last contract but didn’t.

I kid you not Chain, when I ordered the HYTE Y60 case back in Sept. They screwed the pooch and lost it in shipping, so they sent me another. Well, the lost one showed up to me just over a month later, HYTE said keep it, for the problem. So now, I'm going to build a 2nd one, now that I know so much more
It was a blast Chain. I liked the EK block look. But the next one, I'm going to get Byski. Now that I went through 100 bucks in tubing to get the bending to heat ratio down
I'm going to try and roll one out with the acrylic cork screw look this time.IF I could justify it to myself I'd do this on my next build

Oh, you're in Japan. Now it makes sense. Anyone trying to schedule a conference at Christmas here in North America would be laughed into an insane asylum.
Yep haha, work on Christmas is nothing special over here, this particular conference overlaps with Christmas Eve/Christmas basically every year, they moved it a week or so earlier a few years back but reverted to Christmas time.
My travel day is still a Sunday Christmas Eve so I have to weave through holidaygoers on my way to catch my plane.

Supposed to be on a flight to palm beach in 45 minutes. Instead, I’ve got one kid on antibiotics for strep, and another awaiting swab results to get on flu anti-viral. And it all happened in the past 12 hours. Welp. Christmas at home I guess. Not the worst thing I suppose. At least I’m much less likely to miss the Bills game. And all the presents are in a suitcase. Just open up that mf’er and dump em under the tree. Happy holidays

This was much nicer than i expected it to be. If I needed a dedicated home server this would be right up my alley. I bought a nice standing desk that costs about half that. If this would have been an option then it would have been a no brained. I have a little 12u case that has my NAS and an old dell 720 that I never power up because it costs more to run than my AWS bill. I upgraded my gaming PC during Covid to play d2r and d4. GPUs were so scarce I had to buy a prebuilt PC and then move it to a better case.

The computer looks great, I'd love to have one if the simple truth wasn't that I haven't even turned on my laptop in over 3 years. I'm strictly phone or tablet, I let my accountant figure stuff out and I just let my financial planner roll things over. Less hassle for everyone involved

Chief, out of all the things you've posted which would make most fellows feel covetous, your ability to put trust in your partners/accountants/financial planners and not feel obligated to check up on the money every second of the day is what I feel envious about. That's a great level of trust.

Yeah, the guy we bought it from. Upon further examination, this spot has been repaired before. Things happen; it's a roughly 200 year old instrument.
I used the same case for my Desktop and my Server, the server is just the largest version of it, Fractal Design Define 7, without any of the lights I wouldnt know either of them were powered on with how quiet they are. 14 mechanical drives and two SSDs in the server with a 10th gen Intel with 32gb, good enough to run TrueNAS and host a Plex server, when I built my desktop I had to do the lottery pools for GPUs, ended up being able to get the 3080 w/ AIO direct from eVGA.
