Hang in there cowboy!

In other news, I paid 5.10 for a Fillet of Fish today. WTF is going on out there ?

someone tried to get into our car a week ago, got it on video. Too bad I was on a sleep aid or would of gotten some target practice in. Funny thing was, there was nothing inside except empty bags, bottles to return, and a dime in the change tray. lol
$5.50 is about the price for cod fish and chips in most places around here. You can get it for $3 as the Friday special with the Cheap Charlie's discount card but it's not as good as Sharples. However, you can forget about even using the card for the Sunday roast as they line up an hour in advance to get it

. . . or I might not come back here at all. My car was broken into overnight, and my computer was taken. I'm irate at myself for thinking something like that couldn't happen to me.

Luckily, it's nothing that can't be fixed or replaced...but the absolute gall of people to steal from others.

That reminds me of what happened here last summer. Someone was biking across Canada to raise money for cancer, so they stopped here overnight to sleep. At some point in the night, someone stole the front tires off of their bikes. And it’s not like the person who did it thought it was just a random traveller, as the bikes were locked up on the back of an RV that had the charity all over the thing. I found it amusing because wtf are you gonna do with two front bike tires? You can’t trade them for drugs or pawn them off

Yep. It was time. Didn't want to wait any longer and do any other damage as well as not wanting to be tooling around this town in something that can't brake quickly. This place is like sanctioned bumper cars.
Oh yeah. All those old retired folk with their lightning fast reflexes and giant bug eyed sunglasses. Not to mention all the funeral traffic.
I’m going to hell, aren’t I?

This town has almost 50% of the residents being college students. That poses an interesting swath of inexperience, sometimes distracted drivers amidst the rest of the experience albeit distracted drivers. :biglaugh:

Also, I would say that this town is about as baked a location as I've ever visited that hasn't yet made weed decriminalized. We don't have that many skunks. So there are a lot of folks also tooling around getting baked in their cars who aren't necessarily inexperienced or elderly or even necessarily any more distracted by a device... but they are blazing away like they're extras in a Cheech and Chong movie.

“Dave? Dave’s not here!“

“Dave? Dave’s not here!“

You know I've used that very line about 100 times. There is also a phrase the GF and I use when we catch a waft - "It's been zero seconds since..." and we don't finish the phrase. It's constant, feels like half the town is about to order Taco Bell and the other half is going to unintentionally fail an Olympic drug test.

HS concert tonight, MS concert tomorrow, my mom coming out Saturday, blood work on Monday, doctor appointment next Friday, in-laws visiting next Saturday.

And this afternoon I learned I had a 30 minute covid exposure yesterday. I am not a very happy guy right now.

We are on the tail end of a COVID outbreak in my house. My wife got it last week, I got it Monday, and it appears my kids are just getting over it now (though they never tested positive). My wife and daughter got hit the hardest (they both have Asthma), my son appears to have missed most of it other than some sniffles and grouchiness. I got hit with just extreme fatigue on Monday/Tuesday and bounced back pretty well Yesterday/today with just some standard cold stuff. VERY glad this wasn't over Christmas or during our upcoming Disney trip in January.

So unloading groceries and managed to step on the poorly installed kick plate on my apartment door. Tore my foot open. My tetanus vaccine is up to date - it's a rip, not a puncture - but man, today is being a day.
