Funny moment a few months ago - my father came up out of anesthesia and started talking to the anesthesia nurse and another person in his room. They couldn't understand a word he was saying. Based on what they said he said... he came back up speaking Lao.
I'd probably end up speaking Ray'ese and would be royally screwed unless some other misbegotten soul was a Sabres fan

Finally had the conversation with the big boss today about the raise to go with my job title swap that took place 3 months ago. I was told I'd get back pay dating to when my former boss was shunted sideways, and we agreed on a 26% raise.

Also, my YOUNGER is now 14 as of today and I just can't deal with that. I got them the first 4 books of the RA Salvatore Drizzt series, which is also weird because it feels like they shouldn't be old enough to read that.

When my daughter was 12, I took her book shopping and she was browsing all over the place. Then she pulls out this really thick book and that’s what she decided she wanted. She hands me it to check out and see if I’d get in shit from her mom if I got her it.

It was the collected works of Arthur Conan Doyle.

Respect on two counts. A 26% pay raise is nothing to sneeze at … secondly for introducing your youngest to Drizzt.

It appears that he used to live in Monroe County and his paranoid schizophrenia led him to be paranoid about people at Rochester General Hospital and the Greater Rochester YMCA.

Scary.

this explosion happened right near where our son and daughter-in-law lived before they moved to Herndon.

My ex-BIL and his wife lived in Reston and then Herndon before they moved to the Harrisburg, PA area to be close to her family and closer to his family in Rochester. Although, the irony is that a bunch of her family moved to the Myrtle Beach area to be closer to her sister not too long after they moved there.

I'd pick Myrtle too. :)

I do think another part of it was that they met at Penn State and they dreamed of their kids going to Penn State with in-state tuition.

I think their son went to one of the PSU schools, but not the Happy Valley university. Their daughter went to an all women's small private college in NE. I heard her freshman year did not go great. So, I am not sure if she is back there for her sophomore year this year or not.

Back to Columbus for another business trip. Had a blast in September when I went down the first time . . . at some point, I might go down and not come back.

Back home after 13 days in a private room in the hospital, had the whopping $3793 bill after the exchange rate. Out of pocket expenses were a terrible $118. Now waiting on Gus to bring a temp caretaker until I can hire a full-time
You OK?

I'm surviving, doc says I'll be lucky to make it to 65. Told him I made a deal with the devil and can't die until after the Bills and Sabres are champions. Said he better start training his grandkids as I'll need a new doctor in 30yrs.

Was an infection so was stuck until they could lower the white blood cell count to back on the chart. Gave an entire encyclopedia of what I can and can't eat / drink, outside of chicken was very few things on the list as allergic to seafood and I don't do raw

Either change it or get out there and strive to make it happen.

It’s just dangerous on a per capita basis. It’s mostly just petty crime that goes on here. Generally when a murder does happen, it’s either because someone snapped mentally and couldn’t get help, or because of the drug trade.

I mean we’ve only had 7 murders this year, but 12 victims (not counting those who committed suicide after their murders). Which is a low number. But in a city of 72K, it’s a lot on a per capita basis.

. . . or I might not come back here at all. My car was broken into overnight, and my computer was taken. I'm irate at myself for thinking something like that couldn't happen to me.

Luckily, it's nothing that can't be fixed or replaced...but the absolute gall of people to steal from others.

Sorry that happened to you, but to be honest this isn't a Columbus issue. It's happening all over, unfortunately.

Life and society has changed. For the better? YMMV.

Hang in there cowboy!

In other news, I paid 5.10 for a Fillet of Fish today. WTF is going on out there ?

someone tried to get into our car a week ago, got it on video. Too bad I was on a sleep aid or would of gotten some target practice in. Funny thing was, there was nothing inside except empty bags, bottles to return, and a dime in the change tray. lol
