Had a road trip up to suburban JAX today. Someone drove into the side of an Amazon box truck outside of the Cecil industrial airport. I haven’t seen a crash like that in a minute.

Shoulda got one game in
Hope she is okay. Mine got her full license a few weeks back. Hope this off-roading isn’t contagious.

She’s good. She panicked when a car was coming the other way. She was giving them space, forgetting that ditches are right there with country roads. No vehicle damage or anything.

Mine turned 16 a couple weeks ago, first on road driving experience was today (not great but not terrible)

She got hers today, but can’t actually drive by herself. She’s not fond of it, because she thinks she’s a princess and should be catered to.

Both of my kids are not eager drivers. I could not WAIT to get my license and some sense of freedom from being trapped in the sticks. They on the other hand are masters of the local transit system and waking/cycling. I guess it makes a difference.

I got mine right at 16 because I had a job and everything out here pretty much requires you to drive, but I got lucky because I took the drivers ed in HS and did a road session with the teacher and that counted as the road test for my license, so just walked in to the DMV with the form and got my license, now I dont even think they offer drivers ed.

My daughter lives out in the country, so any freedom involves driving. Unless she wants to ride a bicycle.

Both of mine did Drivers' Ed classes through their HS.

This year I probably wont be able to watch all 82 games live on tv as last season.
Which service offers 1080p/60fps (a friend bout nhl pass and it was just 720p/30fps)
Also is there a service to dvr games because I cant stay up till 4am anymore.
Do black out restrictions just apply locally or also for international streaming, is there a single product which offers all games?
Thx for your help guys, I think this will be a great season.

It rained until about an hour ago and is supposed to start back up tonight. We're going to have to pack everything wet in the morning. Power went out sometime over night - I know this because I got up at 4:30 and there were no lights in the bathroom, which also means no water fountain or hand dryer. Ordered lunch from a local place 15 mins away. Got back with the order and noticed they forgot one of the meals, so I went back.

going really well, clearly. Next stop, St Louis and the Gateway Arch.

Now that I am in between semesters for school, I need to put in some DIII lax goalie dad offseason work.

Last week it was bugging the AD about making the interim head coach the full time coach. Tonight it will be going with Nate to watch his summer league playoff game.

Job hunt is back to frustrating. Lot's of irons in the fire went cold last week. Still have one 2nd interview this week.

3 more are on life support right now. I haven't heard back from one in a week as of today, so it's trending towards a ghosting. I "bombed" a coding test last week (well, i was able to do it, though in bash instead of python). I did ace the troubleshooting part of the test though. I followed up on a job that was moving at light speed and went dead...guess they are all out of the office this week for an august break, so that is in a holding pattern.

Was hoping to get this sorted before I went on Vacation towards the end of the month. Who knows lol.

Sorry to hear . . . hope better news is coming soon.

On the job-related front, I was offered another position within the library here. It pays more, the hours are better, and I get to commute in with my wife. I don't think it gets much better than that.

Coffee is my homeboy today.

Nate had his semifinal summer league game in Syracuse last night and I drove him. We got back less than 4 hours before my alarm goes off.

At least he won and we survived the drive through the storm.

I remember those days, have a 2330 start near the Md-Pa line, finish the game around 1am drive the 1.5hrs home, then wake at 5am to go workout before going into the office. I'd pop a weight loss pill before working out, grab a dark chocolate candy bar and a Jolt cola while walking into the office. Half the days I was so wired I couldn't nap that afternoon
