Haven't been there in a decade. I thought the old Habs locker room bench was the most unique display. Some of the displays were meh. Picture taken with the Cup was the highlight, of course. 2nd such photo for me - Cup was taken to the literal beach where I live in June 2002 on a 4-runner, then was also on display downtown before game #3, the series CAR lost to DET.HHOF in Toronto was a tad underwhelming. But traffic wasn’t the nightmare it could’ve been, so that was good.

Really wish you hadn't stopped doing those Dos Equis commercials, I loved those things!Been sick the last week with fever, laryngitis etc so haven't been out of the condo in 4 days. Missed out on my new lineup and been experiencing it vicariously through the photo sessions Andy did for the message boards and discord.
I get the txt messages today from my 'teenage' managers that they want to host my birthday party but need dad to open his wallet and fund it. Now the funny part is that my Facebook is filled with pre-party information before they bothered contacting me. Guess they didn't do a good job coordinating the media. I just wonder if they'll put the money necklace on me so people can staple on the notes to fund my weekend?
Here's something to cheer up anyone having a bad day:
Congrats. Library work is great!Sorry to hear . . . hope better news is coming soon.
On the job-related front, I was offered another position within the library here. It pays more, the hours are better, and I get to commute in with my wife. I don't think it gets much better than that.
can I just tag along with you to help when need be in your life?My daughter turned 16 on Friday, but I had her on Sunday to celebrate it. A bunch of the people in my apartment building ended up buying her gifts or gave her money, and some people from the building next door did the same thing. We threw a party for her, but got crashed by a random (drunken) idiot. He pulled out a shank and tried to threaten everyone. I told him to put it away, and if he didn’t he was deep throating his shank. He did it, but tried to say he only did it as a favour to me because we’re both Natives. I kicked him out, and the only reason he listened was because I told him we’re not “nish” brothers. Which in Native culture is enough, especially seeing I was a decade older than he was and to refuse to leave was disrespecting an elder.
My daughter got her license today, and hates it. Because she knows she’s gonna have to drive around her younger (half) sister and step siblings now. Once she gets comfortable driving, she’ll be begging to take a vehicle out.
And then as an addendum, I met a lady and I have no idea how that’s gonna go. She’s not looking for anyone but isn’t against dating. So we’ll see how that goes
I'll read up on it as a potential second career.Congrats. Library work is great!

If you read the details then you might want to go Gary Plauché on him yourself.Yeah I saw the headline. Knowing a basic amount about what he’d done, I’m not gonna celebrate what happened to him in prison and the justice system definitely shouldn’t operate that way … but other prisoners have their own justice and that’s not always a bad thing.
I read that as $1 million and thought "so what?". I re-read that correctly and thought "WTF ??!!??"Book: Phil bet over $1B, tried Ryder Cup wager
Phil Mickelson bet more than $1 billion on football, basketball and baseball over the past three decades and even allegedly attempted to place a $400,000 wager on Team USA in the 2012 Ryder Cup in which he participated, according to an upcoming book.www.espn.com
Life makes no sense. Years ago when I was a teenager I was in a Christian punk band, and we weren’t allowed to play anywhere in or around my city. We only managed to play two shows in the entire existence of the band. One of them was at the church of 4/5 members (aka not me) and the other was at a bar opening for No Use For a Name. Because our lyrics weren’t religious enough or too offensive (to churches) or too religious (everywhere else that tried to support local music). But my city recently had a celebration of the city, so each day they had live music. Incidentally they asked us if we’d play the stage, even though we hadn’t been a thing in 25 years. We decided we’d do it for shits and giggles. We could only remember three songs we ever wrote, which were the most offensive songs we wrote. So we just decided to be a cover band and do songs we each liked for the set. Apparently that ended up with us being too “aggressive” and had 3 members getting arrested while the show happened, because we weren’t family friendly enough. Now we’re going to court because of some stupid BS “protect the kids” reason, even though the entire case hinges on nothing more than the city expected a Kumbaya My Lord sound. Their entire case hangs on the fact that it wasn’t the “right sounding” music they expected, which is what was a thing back when we were a band.
