Family got bigger today. She’s still within her two week window from being spayed so she has to live the cone life for a few more days. Everyone meet JoJo.

My entire working career has been public-facing (be it in person or over the phone). I'm sick of it. I'd love a back-office job where I can make things go without having to face the general public.
Make it happen, Burg.

On one of my message boards they're going down the costs rabbit hole and how much does it take to live. I had people arguing that my $1000 a month is unreasonable.

I live in a 2bdr / 2ba 5yo condo with resort pool and gym. I typically eat out 2x a day everyday as literally it's cheaper than cooking myself if I eat Thai food.

380 rent
60 electric and drinking water
180 eating out
100 groceries
15 phone with unlimited load
20 Internet
30 visa
785 a month

My nonessential
400 entertainment
500 caretaker
15 transport drop it to 6 if taking baht bus

Nice easy life

Unreasonable how? As in its too much? Or not enough? Either way, a grand a month is definitely not feasible in the US or Canada.

You have the 2 week millionaires and the guys here for a month saying I'm way under. They don't understand that you can get a great condo cheap especially if you pay a year in advance for cheap. They also go to Western restaurants where a Thai dish will cost them $10 while that same dish in the food court is $2. There's a Thai restaurant across the street from the hospital that doesn't have any non shrimp dish priced over $1.75, needless to say it's always full with hospital staff. Don't get me wrong I do eat some Western food such as the 2 slices of pizza and a coke for $5, or the late night donar when feeling peckish

I have the chicken n sausage jambalaya, and sauza beans percolating in the slow cookers. One of the housekeeping staff sent pics of the pig on spit guys setting up to begin cooking, they'll also later do burgers to order.

According to my GM there'll be 60 girls in star spangled bikinis, 12 in nurses outfits to serve Red, white and blue inoculations which are promised to be more effective than the 'vid vax. Only thing I can't do is set off fireworks to wish 'Murica a happy birthday today

That sounds like quite a scene

I have disabled my only two ad blockers for this site, yet I continue to get the "disable adblocker" notice every few times I go to a new page on here. The ad blocker icons are grayed out so I know they aren't functioning on this site. Is this a thing for anyone else. Is there something else I'm supposed to do? I'm not removing these extensions from my chrome completely, so do I just continue to be tortured with this notice forever?

So I learned 2 things today.
1. Don't F with old Marines. Bill is a 30yr Force Recon retired Master Gunnery Sgt that did 2 Vietnam tours and still looks like he'd bench press a truck. He has eclectic dress tastes ie Grey Marine cap, sleeve cut off Marine shirt (to be honest, sleeves probably too tight), camo booty shorts and the Paul Sr mustache. So I joke that he looks like the 6th Village People but we're good. An Aussie idiot screws with him, one punch later and Bill's back to drinking while the Aussie mates are carrying his boy out.

Now for me, lesson 2 is Don't F with the wimmins. So this fine little thing is over getting food, I talk to her and we rendezvous upstairs. Coming down, we run into her sister who isn't happy and starts flapping her yap. Instead of being smart and walking away, I mistakenly say how the sister is better. Well a few slaps and scratches later I'm back in my bar having a cheeseburger with sauza beans

So my phone has been f***ing up lately, not holding a charge and randomly crashing. So I figured my charging port was jammed and cleaned it. There was dirt in it, but nothing major. The other night it completely bricked itself, and nothing would happen when I tried to charge it or turn it back on. I looked into new phones, new to me phones, and everything else. I decided I’d take it in to a repair shop and see what the problem was, but I had decided to spend $90 replacing the battery on this one, and getting a new one from my mobile company for free.

Turns out the problem was my cord, but I didn’t think of that as I didn’t pull the plug in part apart. So instead of spending $2000+ over the next two years, I only spent $15.

I had to ditch my Vivo and go the new phone route a few months back. The battery wouldn't hold a charge and the phone would randomly restart. I replaced the battery and the problem resurfaced about 4mo later. Figured after 5yrs it was time to upgrade so spent $300 on last year's model Samsung

I have 6.5yo iphone 6E or 6S with 16GB ram
Battery not good.

Maybe time to upgrade to a newer model with similar form factor like a iphone 13.
(??). Recommendations from anyone?
