Couts has given everything to this organization, carries them to playoff contention, and then is thrown under the bus by this scumbag coach and it all came crashing down after that move.

Only the head homers were fooled by these snake oil salesmen.

But you watch, one press conference by Danny the Rat and Jonesy, they will fall back into line and count this season as a roaring success. Of course that means that we will take a huge step to cup contenders next year. Even though we are in cap hell and 85% of the current lineup will be back after ridding themselves of the soft 15% only to add more Laughtons and Nicky Ds.

In short, We are so screwed, much worse than the Hexy and Chuckles era.

What culture? The coach just threw the whole lot of them under the bus as being 'soft' and said they 'don't have what it takes to play at this time of year.' Is it the team, or has the coach just lost them like he always does?

Sorry, I thought I was laying on the sarcasm pretty thick

If it was handled better I could of understood sitting Couturier. But of course they rode him into the ground from October to December and of course he started breaking down early in 24
They completely ignored the fact he didn’t play for 2 years coming off a significant back injury and thought he was good to go. Everyone who thought this was a good idea is incompetent as hell. I can’t be mad at Couturier he is a player who wants to be in every situation possible

The sitting of Couts was handled stupidly. The guy was playing tons of minutes, off back surgery, and playing with 5 different small nagging injuries. The RIGHT thing to do is speak to him, tell him you're giving him a couple down days to recover, and then announce it that way. Not a healthy scratch of the new Captain, a mandatory maintenance day for a warrior too tough to come out of the lineup voluntarily. It's not even that friggin' hard to do it right.

Exactly. I don’t want to hear the defenders say “Well Couturier was playing bad so I have no problem sitting him. It doesn’t matter how it was done”.
it does matter. He is your Captain and is the most respected player in the room.

You insult the Captain, you make every guy feel he's unimportant. Maybe that's the point. The only important person in that guy's dressing room is the coach.

"Me, my friends, the teams media spokespeople, the teams broadcasters, the teams front office, and the vast majority of Flyers fans all agree that Torts is an incredible coach and will defend him to the death any time he's criticized, but its the tiny minority of people who say he's a bad coach that are the hivemind."

Players are soft/tired/injured. Take your pick. Injuries are a valid excuse. The others, not so much. Coach can't do anything about them except play who he has. He supposed to praise them for the performances the last several games?

Seriously. And I haven't stopped being insulted since he was hired. His mere existence insults me, and his continued employment is an insult to the concept of human work. Also, it must be insulting to the horses that he is so "hands on" with the sperm extraction - they have machines for that now, surely.

You're right. It's about the friends you make along the way.

Which funny enough is the reason why half of us are still posting on here.
The team blows goats more than ever but at least we can MST3K our way through the failure because we've got such a hilarious and creative group here.

EDIT: Maybe I should've included horses.
