Yes. They did in fact add players via FA, and have since revealed they were lying about rebuilding.
No they didn't. I mean yes of course they had a few adds like Hathaway but no big FA moves. No star signings. Just a little hole filling. I don't see the lie you are talking about though. They've done a decent job in the trades and maybe got lucky in the non trade, used the cap space to get more picks. Pretty good job of restructuring, rebuilding and still competing.

I guess you wanted a full tear down or a tank. I didn't.

and I couldn't care less about your negative view. Your sheepy groupthink either. You want a "hate the Flyers site" build one and keep all the positive people out. You'd be happy there for a while but in the end I think you'd get bored. Maybe. Some people just prefer negativity. I guess that's you.

We built the negative site. You're here. Take your own advice.

But also, please dont. Reading this nonsense is making an agonizingly slow day at work palatable.

Ah. No decent signings. Hmm. And they had someone refuse to be traded here. While it's rumored that aversion to Tortorella is one of the reasons Cutter decided to bail.

Also, that first part is hilarious. "They didn't add anyone, except the people they added."

When it takes this much cognitive gear-grinding to paint things in a good light, maybe the thing you're defending isn't actually that good?

Funny fact we aren't saying the sky is falling. We are saying it fell years ago and never got lifted into place because the people who are pulling the strings to lift it failed and haven't been replaced.

Hint they are all still here and that's why this new era isn't set up on a good foundation so it will probably be more of the same old same old.
Sky is falling, sky already fell, semantics. You got the point. This is a half empty rather than half full argument.
I think the foundation is being built, and being built the right way. You will see steady improvement.

I would accept the "just get in and anything could happen" mantra if it appeared this was a young up-and-coming team that looked like they might be on the verge of big things in the future. Every great team starts somewhere. But it appears that "just get in and anything can happen" is closer to this franchise's M.O. than their launching pad to the top. Why shoot for elite talent when you can assemble a ragtag bunch of tryhards and middle 6ers and try and play Cinderella?

I dunno. I just want a legit contender again. It's been way too long. Why on earth would you want to settle for the mediocrity we've had dumped on us for the last decade? Why not strive for better?

Why strive for better when "thoroughly mediocre" is so much easier?

I was trying to find the preseason predictions of the point totals.

"80-85 points, pick 10th and 16th as Florida just misses the playoffs, add two solid starters."

The foundation is being built on old outdated systems. That's not a solid thing to build a foundation on.

Don’t forget all of the future middle six wingers and bottom four dmen in the system. That’s how you build a solid foundation for the future.

"Me, my friends, the teams media spokespeople, the teams broadcasters, the teams front office, and the vast majority of Flyers fans all agree that Torts is an incredible coach and will defend him to the death any time he's criticized, but its the tiny minority of people who say he's a bad coach that are the hivemind."

This thread is now the airing of grievances thread.

It's about time. The Redners that I find myself at on an almost daily basis decided to randomly rearrange half the store. They got rid of the wide middle aisle down the middle of the store and extended half the skinny ones. People are running into each other all over the place, paper products are with the produce, shit is all f***ed up, and I can't find anything. It's total chaos, and not the good kind. I mean, what possible sense can this make??? Madness

I love this thread. With all that off my chest, I'm ready to go down with the ship tonight. Go Sixers

Right?

2010, I was still a reasonably young man with small children, with one not even a glimmer in my eye yet. Suddenly, it's 2024, I've raised a full-grown adult, I'm being eaten out of house and home by two teenage boys, and I'm staring down 50. This team can f*** right off with their continued incompetence.

Negative? Hardly. All I want is to be excited to be a Flyers fan again, but I can't do that if I don't see any signs of intelligent life in the front office.
