That's not the time. Last year was about getting rid of crap. There's a process and we shall see how it goes.
You want to hold this management accountable for the past. I don't. There's no real reason to keep on about it.

You're a hive mind. I'm not.

You really think a bunch of negative nellies on the internet will change my mind on my positive view of this team? It won't. Keep trying though if that's what gets you off.

Not the time? Then why did they add players?

How come they kept almost all of the crap?

I am truly envious of people that have blind faith in an organization that has completely railroaded its fanbase for a decade.

We couldn't care less about your positive view of the team. Feel free to cheer on every time DB pulls the trigger on a key add like Erik Johnson or Marc Staal. Knock yourself out. Meanwhile, a good many of us here know damn well that we're being held hostage by misplaced loyalty developed in childhood, so this place is how we cope with our hopelessness that this organization will ever get its head out of its ass.

You do realize people hate him and the franchise’s direction because they’re in the position they’re in instead of being in the Cellebrini sweepstakes, right?

It’s a bad thing if the goal is to win a Cup. A large contingent of this board said when Torts was hired he’d get them into the middling area which is the worst possible place they could be. Shocking that’s exactly where they’re are.

But hey, hang the banner for this amazing season. A Cup is right around the corner.

Yeah, but instead of being a bottom 10 team with a chance at the 1st overall, they have way overachieved and are a bottom 12 team with culture. In the end, isn’t that what matters?

You're right. It's about the friends you make along the way.

Which funny enough is the reason why half of us are still posting on here.

and have since revealed they were lying about rebuilding.
To be fair, they could have been lying to the players, though their actions (and Torts' statement re: Zamula and development) certainly seem to indicate that you are correct. But why even make that statement to the media? Now everyone knows you're lying to somebody. You could have guessed that they were, but Jones turned the probability into a certainty. What was the point of that?

It will be funny if Tortorella's team finishes below Ruff's team

One a supposed coach of the year candidate, the other fired in March.

The fact that the 79 point Devils (87 points max) aren't eliminated yet just reinforces how ridiculous this "playoff race" is.

True, but it used to be much worse. In 1990-91 when 16 out of 21 teams made the playoffs, the bottom two seeds in the West were .425 Minnesota and .406 Vancouver.

Of course, Minnesota beat the #1 team in the league in the first round and went all the way to the SC Finals.

Dude, my point is being proven quite strongly. All I did was post a positive comment and it's lit off a shitstorm of negativity and preachy self righteousness. Pretty much proves what I'd heard about it.

Too much negativity. It's just soul crushing.

If you've survived being a Flyers fan for this long, I think you'll be ok. Cheers.

I'm looking more at the fact that teams are losing their way in. The Flyers have gotten 2 points in their last 7 I think and are still barely out, despite only having something like a 3 point cushion when the streak started.

What culture? The coach just threw the whole lot of them under the bus as being 'soft' and said they 'don't have what it takes to play at this time of year.' Is it the team, or has the coach just lost them like he always does?

Not necessarily. I've been a fan for 51 friggin' years. Saw two Cups right away, then Nada Bupkis von SweetFughAll since. Given how badly they've botched THIS rebuild so far, I have realistically given up all hope of them ever winning the Stanley Cup again in my lifetime, no matter how long I manage to live...
