Wow, I was warned this place was negative and full of haters but it's truly off the charts.
This place is the opposite of Reddit. Over there it’s all sunshine and rainbows and the Flyers org can do no wrong. Here it’s all whining and complaining and they can do nothing right. I try to not get too high or low even though I completely disagree with the half in and half out approach. Both places are tiring for different reasons. After sifting through the nonsense, I find a lot of good info here. Not as much over there.

Actually, no, this place is full of people who keep being right about the team. Over and over, for years. Once upon a time things were actually pretty positive here!

It's not our fault the Flyers keep proving us right in very very bad and predictable ways.

Hart wasn't pacing for a Vezina but he was definitely adequate and what he also did was allow Errson to play an effective backup role. Errson was an effective backup, pushing for starts.

We now have neither an adequate starter nor an adequate backup. It's all Hart's fault.

He won't win it if they fail to make the playoffs (even though winning 37 games with a roster that on paper should've topped out at 25 while losing his starting goalie to a likely prison sentence is pretty damn impressive).

I think some of the "on paper should be garbage" talk was hyperbolic. I had this team pegged at 35 wins ~10th in the conference before the season. Their roster, when healthy, is basically all middle-6 wingers, an OK-ish defense, and (to start) good goaltending. They had a formula for utter mediocrity and they are delivering that.

Flyers in 22-23: .457 P% (26th)

Flyers this season until Couturier got hurt on January 12: .595 (12th)

Since then: .471 (23rd)

Coots played 802 minutes up to Jan 12th. Frost played 470.

It’s clear that this is totally Couts’ fault.

The beatings will continue until moral improves.

You can believe that if you want, but this team was picked to be down at the very bottom in the Chicago San Jose area. Fighting for a shot at Cellebrini. Instead we had some good games and until they burned out a playoff race. If you want to hate on that go for it, but to me they did better than expected and I see the foundation taking place.

Pretty sure most people here picked them to be just below playoff level.

There is no foundation taking place. Jones admitted they lied about a rebuild, which is what their actions always said anyway. This is their idea of going for it. If a foundation we're taking place, they'd be setting the table for the Michkov era. They aren't doing that at all.

They had a healthy Couturier until Torts played him so much he broke down in January, so it makes no sense to think they would have been worse than last year’s 26th placed finish.

It's actually been a full decade of being told we are just being negative, from the moment we realized Hak wasn't it.

And we've been right every step of the way since. It's uncanny. It's almost like any idiot can see that the organizational culture is rotten and moribund. Anyone who wants to call us "haters" - what a stupid f***ing word, btw - can shove it up their ass.

I am no sports savant. I cannot grasp the finer points of moves made by the great teams that keep their juices juicing. And yet I can effortlessly bat at 80% on nailing Flyers decisions.

These guys in the office are not professionals. It is a retirement club of arrogant hobbyists who aren't even good at their hobby. They are bad because they are managed by people who are worse at this than me, and I'm bad.

Torts correctly deserved all the credit for their overarching and none of the blame now. The mental gymnastics among the Authentics is extraordinary
Team was bad last year: "Not Torts' fault, the roster was bad!"

Team was good to start this year and had Couts back "Look what he did with a bad roster!"

Team is bad to end this year: "What do you expect the roster is bad!"

And we're told we should be happy Torts rode Couts into the ground chasing wins in December, all so this team could finish 9th in the conference? Nah, miss me with that.

They could finish as low as 22nd

If they lose out 24th (and pick #9) is actually very, very possible.

Caps, Pens, RWs and Minny would all 100% pass them. As each would either need no points (Pens, Caps, RWs likely after today) or 2 points (Minny).

Then would need all of:
Buffalo: 2-3-0
Seattle: 3-2-1
Devils: 3-2-0

for Flyers to end up 24th.

But if win 1 game? Yeh... most likely 22nd and pick #11 is lowest can go.
