It's the same crap that ran Lavy out. They say he's being too tough on the players. BS. Entitled athletes. Tell me how great Sullivan is. He's been blessed with an overflow of talent and a leader in Crosby. A generational player. Something we haven't had in ages. Great players we don't have yet. What we've had lately is poor management. It' the players can't handle toughness then we need players that can. Suck it up
This is the thinking that led Buffalo to chase ROR out of town.

If they wanted Hakstol gone that bad they would have canned him with Hextall. I think it had more to do with him keeping a tight circle and not including the Alumni.

They changed almost nothing about his hockey decisions, and the only reason Hakstol didn't survive is because he brought it on himself. It was all about not making the Alumni feel special.

Are there any good coaching candidates that excite anyone that the team should look at?
You know if Tortersmella moves to the front office then he will want shaw and thompson to do it.
Wouldnt that be amazing? lol

No coaches already in the organization really inspire any confidence in me. Thompson is hot garbage, and Lappy is even worse. I guess Shaw is the one I would choose from within by process of elimination, but I'm not thrilled by it.

Stop it. You really think Lavy stopped coaching the "great way"? Did the game pass him by? No. The players quit on him.

He actually did stop coaching the "great way" because his bosses were telling him to run a defensive system to bail out their failed goaltending investments. While also trying to maintain his regular system. Caused mass confusion.

It’s been shit since Laviolette.

I miss him.
Laviolette was love! His emotions and his offensive mentality! I loved everything about him! Also his timeouts were money! The best coach ive see for the flyers

They should have fired him in the offseason when it was clear the players tuned him out.

Having said this, he was undermined by Holmgren and Snider in many respects to cover for the Bryzaster signing....basically forced him to introduce a new defensive "wrinkle" to his offensive system. Why they traded JVR who was ideal for his system for Luke effin Schenn who was supposed to make Bryz look better than he was. Bryz was a system goalie from the outset in AZ. Instead, Schenn attempted to stay at home and block shots and looked like a one legged flamingo doing so while Bryz became a mental basket case. Yet we doubled down on him and let Bob go......

This is just one dumb franchise....

He just played a different style.

They sand bagged him with a defense core that couldn’t run his attack systems, and wanted him to adapt. He did not.

By far the best coach they have had in 10+ years. Is it a surprise that Berube - and Shaw are probable current front runners?

These guys are trying to market Budweiser in a league where Lagavulin is easily found.

I’m so incredibly confused about how this team isn’t locked into the playoffs already when all we heard for months was how great of a coach Torts is for turning a lottery team into a playoff team by changing the culture and instilling accountability.

Can you be a “playoff team” when you're pacing to miss the playoffs? Someone help me understand. I’m neither a coach nor a dentist, so this is all going over my head.
