Johnny Oduya, who was claimed off of waivers from the Ottawa Senators earlier this week to add depth to the blue line, made his Flyers debut on Sunday because Andrew MacDonald suffered a lower-body injury during Saturday night's in a 7-6 shootout loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Oduya's first game in a Flyers sweater did not go well. First, he was beaten badly on the game's opening goal by
Aleksander Barkov. Then, he went down to injury during the opening seconds of the third period and did not take another shift.
Head coach Dave Hakstol told reporters that Oduya was "dinged up" after the game and was unsure if he would be available against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
With MacDonald and Oduya both out, this could be a chance for
Travis Sanheim to make an impact! "
