They only had Jeimer Canderlario to the Jays.

Former Jays:
Chapman to Arizona
Hicks to Houston
Kiermaier to Cleveland
Belt to Minnesota
Merrifield to Oakland

Teoscar to Boston
Gurriel to Miami
No surprise.

This whole management team is all about making moves without affecting any real changes. Just good enough to make the playoffs but not advancing.

The Varsho trade was a disaster from the start because they overvalue defense above all. At the end of the day he didn't even catch one game.

Defense is great but here's the kicker...if your pitchers strike people out then you can get away with mediocre defense. You can't get away with no hitting.

In hindsight, maybe they overreacted to the game 2 loss against Seattle. Run prevention was an issue.

So acquiring one of the best defensive outfielders in the game was a disaster seeing as how they lacked defence?

Yikes this post is ugly. You thought Varsho was acquired to catch lol. But starting off judging an off season by a websites random predictions is cute.

Biggest splash possible. Ohtani and Yamamoto

Perfect although I saw someone post we don’t get a great comp pick for him. But our drafting has been pretty solid

Some weird predictions.

One guy has the Jays signing Sonny Gray, Candelairo, Lorenzen and Severino.

Another has the Jays sign in Candelairo, and Soler.

I can see Candelairo and Lorenzen. The rest not so much.

The Blue Jays did leave a handful of notable prospects unprotected, including right-handed pitchers Dahian Santos and CJ Van Eyk, outfielders Dasan Brown and Gabriel Martinez and infielder Alex De Jesus. Except for Van Eyk, however, none of these prospects has played above High A, making their chances of sticking on an MLB roster all season slim; thus they are not likely to be Rule 5 picks.

Van Eyk, meanwhile, missed all of 2022 recovering from Tommy John surgery and pitched in only 34 1/3 innings this season, split between three levels, the highest of which was Double-A New Hampshire, where he had a 4.15 ERA in four starts. But the righty pitched to a 2.51 ERA in 14 1/3 innings in the Arizona Fall League this year and, as MLB.com noted, he had one of the best curveballs in the AFL. Still, it’s risky for a team to select a pitcher only about a year or so removed from Tommy John with no experience above Double A, so keeping Van Eyk unprotected is likely an educated risk the Blue Jays are willing to take.

More roster moves and 40-man changes could be on the horizon for the Blue Jays later this week with the non-tender deadline looming. By Friday at 8 p.m. ET, clubs have to decide whether to tender contracts to eligible players. With Toronto’s 40-man roster sitting at 39 now, they could clear more space for future adds they want to make via free agency or trades by non-tendering players who may no longer fit in next season’s plans.

Some players who may be sitting on the edge of the roster include Wes Parsons, Adam Cimber, Zach Pop, Tyler Heineman, Otto Lopez and Nathan Lukes.
